PHILLIPPE’S NO DUMMY WHEN IT COMES TO IMPRESSING EASTWOOD
Actor RYAN PHILLIPPE was so determined to impress his FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS director CLINT EASTWOOD he went to extraordinary lengths to make sure he arrived on set in character and ready to act.
The CRASH star spent night after night acting scenes out with a male dummy in his hotel bedroom, so he’d be ready for Eastwood and his famous one-take shoots.
Phillippe, who portrays real-life medic JOHN ‘DOC’ BRADLEY in the war epic, used his prop dummy to practice tying tourniquets and fashioning slings, so when he got onto the battlefield set, it would all seem like second nature to him.
He says, "I’d work on that stuff over and over again at night in my hotel room. I got a male dummy from the props guys to practice (fixing) tourniquets and pressure bandages and slings."
