A Chinese TV advertisement for anal and intestinal ailments was banned from being shown during rush-hour.
Beijing officials stopped showing the promo on buses after it caused a public backlash and received a series of complaints.
The advertisements, which feature "experts" and "sufferers exaggerating the benefits of the treatment", were blamed for spoiling commuters’ breakfasts.
The Beijing News reported: "Showing the television advertisements on public transport during the breakfast period had led to commuters’ digestive discomfort.
"In the interests of those commuters who are in the habit of eating just before boarding, and to avoid affecting commuters’ appetites, such commercials will not be aired between 7am and 9am."

A town in East India will be painted pink to cut crime.
Authorities are fed up with the crime rates in the town of Aurangabad, Bihar, and hope the makeover will lift morale.
The town is in one of India’s poorest states and has been devastated by murders, extortion, kidnapping and inter-caste wars.
Officials say the pink paint idea came from the Rajput community, who migrated from Jaipur - known as India’s pink city.
A senior government official said: "Only a few buildings in Jaipur bear the pink colour. Aurangabad will actually be the country’s real pink city."

US police are hunting a missing dinosaur.
New York officers are on the lookout for a life-size fibreglass replica of a carnivorous Deinonychus, which was last seen in a Long Island suburb last week.
The dinosaur went missing from a display at the Oyster Bay Festival and police have asked the public to help them find it.
Detective John May said: "it’s a very unusual theft, and because of that, we ‘re hoping the public will spot it somewhere." Festival spokeswoman Cindy Smith added: "You’d definitely notice if someone rode by with it."

A US man has told police someone stole his gold teeth while he was sleeping.
Bryan Osteen, from Brevard County, Florida, called police to report the theft last weekend.
He says someone crept into his bedroom and removed the $80 teeth from his mouth as he was dozing.
Osteen explains he is a heavy sleeper and failed to wake up until after the thief had left.
He suspects one of his friends may be to blame as there were other people in the house when the theft took place.

The world’s most expensive cake is likely to cause indigestion - because it is studded with diamonds.
The extravagant cake, created by Mimi So Jewellers and Nahid La Patisserie Artistique, is the highlight of the Luxury Brands Bridal Show in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
Show organiser Ilona Sherman said: "Where else would you debut a cake like this but on Rodeo Drive?" The cake, guarded by a security team at all times, will never be eaten.
Sherman added: "I think diamonds are too hard on the stomach."

Two US men were injured when their vehicle flipped as they swerved to avoid a flying bra.
James Campbell and Jeff Long, from Ohio, crashed on Interstate 75 after the raunchy red bra came flying towards them.
Bra owner Emily Davis, 17, says she hung the lingerie from her car aerial after the two men motioned at her to flash them.
James was left with a broken neck vertebra and Jeff suffered broken ribs.
Emily faces charges of littering. James and Jeff deny asking her to lift her shirt.

Tina had been struggling on three legs but can now go "off road" after a 4X4-style suspension system was attached to her shell.
Increasingly warmer autumns meant Tina hibernated later in the year, leaving her unable to cope with muddy grass and dead leaves.
Darren Beasley from Longleat Safari Park said: "The new system is incredible and allows Tina to go all over the place. She is now among the fastest tortoises and certainly making the most of the warm weather prior to hibernating. And she can cope with any terrain - it’s amazing."

A drunken Norwegian man broke into a prison while trying to find his way home.
Guards at the Bodoe town jail were left stunned after the heavily intoxicated man came crashing through the prison’s fence.
The unwanted guest was reportedly trying to find his way home after a party.
Prison warden Geir Broen said: "You might say we were a bit perturbed to find this person on our turf. I don’t think this guy knew where he was, and he was pretty well under the influence." The man told police he thought he was in Moerkved, a neighborhood about six miles east of the prison.

Two US teenagers have accused each other of assaulting their hairstyle.
An 18-year-old student from Des Moines East High School in Los Angeles told police a girl had snuck up behind her and started hacking off her hair.
The student said when she tried to grab the scissors from her attacker her hands and face were slashed.
However, when police questioned the accused, she insisted she was in fact the victim of a violent haircut.
To prove her story, the suspect showed the police "a large quadrant of hair which had been removed from the front of her head".
Crime scene investigators were called in to take pictures of both haircut disasters, but no charges have been filed as yet.

A US woman named Shawnta McBride has lived up to her name after marrying five men without divorcing her first husband.
Police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, are looking for the 31-year-old bigamist, who has illegally tied the knot five times in the last two years.
The officers have linked McBride’s case to that of two men arrested in Georgia earlier this year - who each married half a dozen women to gain US citizenship.
Four of McBride’s grooms were born in Ghana, one was from Morocco and one was a Brit.

Refugees arriving in Britain will be given free circus training - to teach them English.
Twenty five asylums seekers aged between 12 and 25 will be taught by professional circus performers in a seven week course.
The course will cost British taxpayers more than £2,000 and will be held in the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.
The city has approximately 8,000 refugees.
Justine Themen, Belgrade Theatre’s assistant director for community and education, told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: "Clowning is very British and we want to use it to raise the confidence and social skills of these people.
"Some may be in the country because they are escaping persecution. The workshops will be funny and will take people’s minds off what might be a depressing reality. It is about learning by stealth."

Braless female visitors have been banned from a US jail.
Officers at Vanderburgh County Jail, Indiana, became so exasperated with visitors flashing their flesh they have insisted bras must be worn "if required".
The policy states: "Adult female visitors, as well as females who would have need of a bra, shall be required to wear a bra." Women are also banned from wearing: spandex, hot pants, halter tops, revealing dresses and "extremely tight fitting" jeans.
Jail worker Major James Wedding said: "We’ve actually had people leave and drive into the city to buy a shirt." Prison bosses hope the new rules will help create a more family-friendly environment.

An Austrian workman accidentally nailed his testicles to the roof of his house with a nail gun.
August Voegl, 59, from Jennersdorf, slipped and shot the four-inch nail into his left testicle with a compressed air nail gun.
The shocked worker was unable to extract the nail or pull himself away from the roof.
Emergency medics were called in to detach Voegl from the roof and he was airlifted to a nearby hospital. He is reportedly recovering well after surgery.

Twin singers providing half-time entertainment at a British football match have been arrested for swearing at fans.
Francine and Nicola Gleadall, 18, were singing a cover of Slade’s ‘Cum On, Feel The Noise’ to the 28,687-strong crowd during the football match between Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley.
Barnsley supporters began hurling abuse at them when the stadium announcer introduced the performers as "two girls from Sheffield".
One of the twins told fans to "f**k off", while the other flicked V-signs at the crowd.
Both girls were arrested under the Public Order Act and given a fixed penalty notice.
Francine said: "We didn’t mean any harm. We do most of our gigs at schools and never have a problem." Sheffield Wednesday won 2-1.

A 105-year-old Chinese man has placed a lonely hearts advert for a new wife in a newspaper.
Gong Duruo, who was born in 1901, wants a wife less than half his age.
Gong, a doctor, said: "First, the woman better have a history of doctor practice or learning literature, since I need assistance to write a medical book.
"Second, the woman should be younger than 50, and can take care of my life." Gong, who has two medical degrees, currently lives with relatives but told Inner Mongolia Morning Papers he was looking for a new life partner.
He said: "Everyone should have a goal. Without a goal, people would die very early. That’s why scientists always have longevity, like Einstein - they have life-goals."

LATEST: The Malawian human rights group protesting against MADONNA’s adoption of 13-month-old DAVID BANDA had its lawsuit deferred for a week today (20OCT06).
The Human Rights Consultative Committee want a judge to impose an injunction to ensure the pop superstar and her husband GUY RITCHIE return to Malawi in order to go through complete adoption checks.
The group believe Madonna whisked the child back to London before the procedure could be undertaken, and reportedly took advice from a Californian adoption agency in a bid to dodge strict UK measures. They also claim Banda’s biological father was unaware of the logistics of the situation when he allowed his child to be taken to Britain.
ALAN CHINULA, the lawyer who obtained an interim order for the MATERIAL GIRL and Ritchie to adopt Banda, has confirmed the case will now be heard on 27 October (06).
Speaking outside the high court in Lilongwe, he said, "We are ready for the case but the attorney general wants to consult with the responsible ministry on the whole adoption process. Our position is that all legal aspects were followed."
