HAWKE REVEALS DIVORCE WEIGHT LOSS
ETHAN HAWKE felt so much guilt following the breakdown of his relationship with UMA THURMAN, he lost more than 50 pounds (23 kilograms) in body weight.
The TRAINING DAY star divorced Thurman in 2004 after six years of marriage, and admits the experience took both an emotional and physical toll on him.
He recalls, "I felt terrible - drained, worried and shattered.
"In all, I lost 50 pounds. No one told me how terrible I looked and it’s only when I look back at old photos that I realise how ill I looked - as if I had the problems of the world on my shoulders.
"I was racked with guilt. I felt bad about failing the mother of our children and that’s been very hard to overcome.
"I also felt that our life together was so difficult and complicated, it was too hard to put into words.
"And after witnessing my parents’ divorce, the last thing I wanted was a divorce in my own marriage."
