DALLAS DITCHES CAST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:24 pm

The entire cast of the feature film DALLAS, with the exception of JOHN TRAVOLTA, have been sacked just one month before the movie was to begin shooting.
The big screen version of the popular 1970s TV show was set to start in November (06), but has now been put on hold as the film is reworked.
Travolta will still star as JR EWING, but cast members including SHIRLEY MacLAINE, who was cast as MISS ELLIE and LUKE WILSON who was cast as BOBBY EWING are out. MEG RYAN was in talks with filmmakers to replace JENNIFER LOPEZ, who dropped out of the film in August (06), in the role of JR’s boozy wife SUE ELLEN, but negotiations have now stopped. Director GURINDER CHADHA will make a final decision on whether or not she will stay on board to direct as soon as the new cast comes together. Chadha, who replaced director ROBERT LUKETIC in April (06), was reportedly not happy with the prior cast.
Filmmakers now hope to make the film for substantially less than its original $65 million (£36 million) budget and have been approaching less well-known actors with lower salary demands.
Producers plan to recast and begin shooting as early as January (06).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:21 pm

Country music singer MINDY McCREADY’s reportedly abusive ex-boyfriend is demanding a paternity test to determine whether or not he is the father of her six-month-old son.
BILLY McKNIGHT claims McCready wants him to be a proper father to son ZANDER, but he says he has serious doubts about whether the boy is his biological child. McKnight served 30 days in jail for abusing McCready after being arrested and charged with attempted murder after a domestic dispute in May 2005.
McCready learned that she was pregnant last summer (05) and admitted she tried to kill herself with prescription medication in a Florida hotel room. She gave birth to her son in March (06) and now is even considering reconciling with McKnight. McKnight says isn’t sure he’s the father, but is more than willing to step into the role if he has proof of paternity.
He tells American publication National Enquirer, "She took off with a con artist when I was in jail, and I don’t know what was going on in her life at the time. "She wants me to be a father to Zander and has even talked to me about getting back together as a family.
"I look forward to it, but I have to know for sure the child is mine."

GIBSON: ‘I HAD MY RIGHTS VIOLATED’ DURING ‘PASSION’ CONTROVERSY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:21 pm

LATEST: MEL GIBSON insists his rights were violated by the criticism he received for his movie THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, which resulted in resentment which surfaced the night he was arrested for drink driving.
The Oscar winner was arrested on 28 July (06) and subsequently went on an anti-Semitic rant targeted at his arresting officers.
Gibson told GOOD MORNING AMERICA host DIANE SAWYER he has been angry for most of his life, but didn’t realise the extent of the anger he still had over accusations that his 2004 film featured anti-Semitic imagery.
He explains, "The other place it may have come from is, as you know, a couple of years ago I released the film Passion. "Even before anyone saw a frame of the film, for an entire year, I was subjected to a pretty brutal sort of public beating. "During the course of that, I think I probably had my rights violated in many different ways as an American. You know, as an artist, as a Christian. Just a human being, you know." At the time, some critics worried that the film could incite violence against Jews, although Gibson insists that didn’t happen and that he is owed an apology.
He adds, "The film came out. It was released, and you could have heard a pin drop, you know. Even the crickets weren’t chirping. "But the other thing I never heard was one single word of apology."

LUCKETT ‘FEELING’ DESTINY’S CHILD LYRICS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:18 pm

Singer LeTOYA LUCKETT has slammed claims she was hurt by the lyrics to DESTINY CHILD’s song SURVIVOR.
The track features Luckett’s former bandmate BEYONCE KNOWLES singing the inflammatory lyrics: "You thought that I’d be stressed without you but I’m chillin’ / You thought I wouldn’t sell without you / Sold nine million". Many believe the lyrics refer to Luckett, who was pushed out of the band in 2000. However, Luckett not only insists she doesn’t know who the song’s about, but says she drew strength from its lyrics. She says, "When I first heard it I didn’t know what it was about. I was feeling Beyonce though, because at that time I was like, well shoot, I’m a survivor. "I’ve been through so many things in my life and I’m blessed to be standing here today. I still don’t actually know who it was about.
"I hope no one would have any bad intentions towards me, but…"

STEWART: ‘I’VE KNOWN PARIS SINCE SHE WAS 14′

Posted in: Uncategorized — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:18 pm

Rocker ROD STEWART continues to fight the widespread criticism against PARIS HILTON, insisting he is attached to the hotel heiress after getting to know her when she was just 14.
Stewart’s daughter KIMBERLY is a long-time friend of Hilton’s and was even a passenger in her car last month (SEPT06) when she was arrested for drink driving in Hollywood.
The singer appeared on US chat show JIMMY KIMMEL live and came to Hilton’s defence when the host said he would be worried if his daughter was hanging out with Hilton.
Stewart said, "I have to stick up for Paris, because I’ve known her since she was 14. She’s been friends with Kimberly since they were even younger." And Stewart doesn’t even mind the fact Hilton recorded her own version of his hit song DO YA THINK I’M SEXY, because he hated the original anyway.
He adds, "(Hilton’s version) is pretty good, but you know, that wasn’t one of my favourite songs anyway. It’s a piece of s**t to be honest. "I force myself to play it every night. It just makes people happy."

FEDERLINE SLAMS PHOTOGRAPHER’S ASSAULT CLAIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:18 pm

LATEST: KEVIN FEDERLINE has hit back at a female photographer’s claim she had her camera pushed back in her face by his bodyguard in Las Vegas, Nevada.
BRITNEY SPEARS’ husband was in town to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Tao nightclub last month (SEPT06) when the incident occurred. Snapper JILL ANN SPAULDING alleges she was trying to get a picture when Federline’s bodyguard put his hand on the front of her camera and violently pushed it back into her face.
Federline spoke with radio show host RYAN SEACREST in Los Angeles on Thursday (12OCT06) where he slammed her claims.
He said, "Personally, I don’t think he touched her. I was standing right there. I watched the whole thing." Spaulding said she suffered from a tender nose and face, but decided against suing the star because she hadn’t had any previous problems with photographing Federline and other celebs.
She said that she didn’t want to make a big deal out of the incident, but that a proper apology wouldn’t be out of the question.
Federline adds, "If he did and he really did touch her and if it bumped her face, you know, I’m sorry."

LONGORIA PROUD TO BE A ‘BALLSY’ TEXAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:34 pm

EVA LONGORIA insists her home state of Texas is far superior to glitzy Los Angeles.
The 31-year-old is bursting with pride over her Texan roots, insisting the state is more chivalrous and neighbourly than LA, where her hit TV show DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES is filmed.
She even claims Texas "is a different country" from the rest of the United States because it’s the only state "ballsy" enough to fly its flag at the same height as the American flag.
She adds, "You can always tell a Texan, and it’s not just the twang…It’s a different way of growing up. There’s chivalry. A man’s a man, and a woman’s a woman. You still borrow sugar from your neighbour. Your car breaks down and 10 people will pull over to help.
"People say it’s slower, but people are enjoying life."

GRIFFITHS TIRED OF POTTER FANS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:33 pm

HARRY POTTER star RICHARD GRIFFITHS hates being pestered by young fans of the teenage wizard, but he gets away with being mean to them because they expect cruelty from his character.
The HISTORY BOYS actor, who plays Potter’s miserable UNCLE VERNON in the popular movies, takes great pleasure in using his character’s grumpy persona in order to make a hasty exit.
Griffiths says, "I’m recognised when I’m pointed out, which is usually by parents.
"That gets tiresome, because they think you’re going to be thrilled to talk to some 12-year-old.
"The nice thing about it is, Uncle Vernon is such a miserable and mean character, that they kind of expect me to be miserable and mean so if I get grumpy about it, the kids sort of nod and think, ‘Yep, that’s him.’"

FROST TAKES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST SPOOF TV SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:30 pm

JUDE LAW’s ex-wife SADIE FROST has demanded to see a preview of a TV show that spoofs her life before it is shown on British TV network Channel 4 tonight (13OCT06).
The 41-year-old’s lawyers have written to the makers of STAR STORIES, insisting they see the show before it is screened. Star Stories is a pastiche documentary series which, in the episode in question, mocks the lives of Frost, Law and her supermodel friend KATE MOSS.
In the show Frost is portrayed as angelic, but Law is depicted as a selfish womaniser who is obsessed with his receding hairline and threatens to thrash Frost with a belt. A source told British newspaper The Sun, "Lawyers acting for Sadie have written to Channel 4 to demand to see a tape. Sadie is not very happy as she’s very protective of her family and friends and doesn’t want to be made fun of." But Channel 4’s entertainment boss ANDREW NEWMAN defended the show, saying, "The show is a complete spoof and, while it is irreverent and cheeky, I hope she laughs along with the audience."
