U2 CONFIRM LABEL SWITCH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:44 pm

LATEST: Irish supergroup U2 have confirmed reports they have moved from Island Records to Mercury Records.
U2 originally signed with Island in 1980. Both labels are within the Universal Music Group.
However, a Universal spokesman has slammed newspaper reports the band quit Island because they were unhappy with their treatment.
The representative says, "We foster strong relationships at Universal Music.
We have the best artists and the best executives and we’re proud of how closely they work together." New Mercury executive JASON ILEY may have prompted U2 to move, after he moved from his role as a senior executive at Island last year (05).
