The 20-year-old has come under fire from Hollywood executives and co-stars for the effect her sociable lifestyle has on her professional conduct.
But Lohan is adamant she is positively clean-living compared to many young actresses.
She says, "It’s up to me and my mum to decide if I am partying too much. I am an angel compared to some of my friends."

TOM CRUISE has had a special day named in his honour in Japan.
According to the Japan Memorial Day Association, he was awarded with his own day because of his love for and close association with Japan.
Cruise’s film, THE LAST SAMURAI, grossed $117 million (£65 million) more in Japan than it did in the US.
The actor has paid more visits to the country than any other major Hollywood star and spends hours on end with fans in the country.
His public relations tour of Japan last spring (06) to promote MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III included a trip on the bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo, during which he had his photo taken with more than 100 fans.
During that trip, Cruise told the press he wanted to shoot the next installment in the action series in Japan.
The Association noted that Cruise is the first Hollywood star to receive this honour

Singer/actress JESSICA SIMPSON was mortified when she screen-tested for a two parts in the big screen re-make of the classic TV show DALLAS and didn’t get either one of them.
Media reports claimed the star was in line to land the role of sexy LUCY EWING, but the DUKES OF HAZZARD star failed to impress film-makers with her acting skills.
Simpson claims singing comes naturally to her, but acting is another story saying, "I never thought I would see myself on the big screen. That, to me, was something so unreachable." She says she auditioned for the part but "couldn’t really pull it off… They wanted me to come back for PAM (EWING). They saw me as something more mature, and as a woman.
"I really thought I nailed it and had a chemistry read with LUKE WILSON, who was playing BOBBY.
"All of a sudden I get a call: not Pam. Everyone was saying I was going to be in Dallas, and I didn’t get the part. I did not get it. How embarrassing is that?"

That father of KATE MOSS’ daughter is finally set to wed a supermodel, according to media reports in the UK.
Publishing entrepreneur JEFFERSON HACK is engaged to Belgian beauty ANOUCK LEPERE, the Daily Mirror newspaper writes.
Hack has four-year-old LILA GRACE with Moss, who reportedly turned down a marriage proposal from him, insisting she had "no intention of getting married", before they split .
Moss is now set to wed BABYSHAMBLES frontman PETE DOHERTY on her 33rd birthday on 16 January (06), according to the rocker’s uncle.

JOHNNY DEPP is set to marry longterm partner VANESSA PARADIS at a low key ceremony in France next year (07), according to media reports.
The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN heart-throb has been with French singer/actress Paradis since 1998 and they have two children - LILY-ROSE, seven, and JACK, four - together.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "Johnny and Vanessa are planning to finally get married next summer at their villa. It will be a private event rather than a showbiz extravaganza."

But they have patched up their friendship and enjoyed a meal together at Dan Tana’s Steakhouse in Los Angeles on Sunday night (08OCT06), before announcing they will be camp counselors in the next Simple Life.
The show’s executive producer JON MURRAY says, "The thing the viewers love is the two girls together. America, Paris and Nicole are going to camp.
"(The show will deal with) what led to the breakdown in the friendship and maybe some of the misunderstandings and things that got in the way."

Veteran actor JACK PALANCE is auctioning off more than 3,000 personal items in his Pennsylvania home.
The CITY SLICKERS star, 87, will begin the three-day sale of memorabilia at his 150 acre Holly-Brooke Farm on Thursday (12OCT06).
Among the items up for grabs are movie posters, over 1,400 books, several classic cars and a horse-drawn carriage.
Antique appraiser PHIL EAGLE says, "People can spend $5 or $50,000 at this auction."

Action man MR T has defended his right to motivate people on upcoming US reality TV show I PITY THE FOOL, because his lengthy battle with cancer tested his resolve to the limit.
The actor - real name LAURENCE TUREAUD - was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 and underwent a recovery programme including chemotherapy and radiation.
And the 54-year-old believes he can now inspire other people.
He says, "Starting in 1997, I was going to the cancer centre every day for a year and a half to get a shot. I had chemotherapy and radiation. I now see my doctor every two months. I take eight pills a day. It’s supposed to slow the growth in my body.
"I’m feeling good. I don’t get nauseated anymore.
"It allows me to have a platform and to speak with authority because I’ve been tested.
"First when people think of me doing a reality show, they think I’m going around beating people up.
"People ask what gives me the authority to give advice? I say, ‘First of all, I don’t give advice. DR PHIL gives advice. Mr T helps people. I motivate them, I inspire them, I give them hope, and I plant the seed so they can feel good about themselves.’ That’s what I do."

Items belonging to the late writer TRUMAN CAPOTE will be auctioned off in New York City next month (NOV06).
The memorabilia is owned by Capote’s close friend JOANNE CARSON, the former wife of late US chat show host JOHNNY CARSON. Capote died in her arms in 1984 aged 59.
Among the 337 lots at the Bonhams auction are a torn scrap of paper on which Capote wrote ‘I’m a genius’.

Academy Award-winning director ROBERT ALTMAN will pen a memoir about his experiences as a film-maker.
The book, A DIRECTOR’S LIFE: PERSONAL STORIES ABOUT THE PROCESS OF MAKING MOVIES, will deal with the complete film-making process.
Altman has directed 39 movies including, A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION, GOSFORD PARK, NASHVILLE, MASH and THE LONG GOODBYE.
In 2006, he received the Honorary Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The book is tentatively scheduled to be published in Autumn 2007.

OPRAH WINFREY, KIMBERLY ELISE, ANGELA BASSETT and RUBY DEE will be presenters at Film Life’s 2006 Black Movie Awards.
Dee will present SPIKE LEE with the Ossie Davis Humanitarian Award for his work, including his Hurricane Katrina documentary WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE: A REQUIEM IN FOUR ACTS.
TYLER PERRY will host the award show, which recognises creative achievements by African-Americans in film.
Top nominees include AKEELAH & THE BEE and ATL, with four nominations each.
The show will be air on 18 October (06) on US cable network TNT.

CROCODILE HUNTER STEVE IRWIN’s eight-year-old daughter BINDI will bravely honour a commitment made by her late father when she presents an award at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Australia tonight (10OCT06).
Irwin had booked the fun night out two months ago as a special treat so his daughter could meet her favourite TV and music stars.
But following his tragic death last month (SEP06), after a fatal stingray attack, the Irwins’ agreed to honour the commitment and the Crocodile Hunter, as well.
Bindi and her mother TERRI will fly to Sydney to present the night’s top prize.
The family’s manager JOHN STAINTON told the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper, "(Bindi) was so excited to be going to Sydney for the awards with her daddy.
"When tragedy struck and the dust settled, I asked Terri if she’d consider doing it in Steve’s honour and they both agreed.
"It was going to be an amazing night for them both. But now they’ll go in honour of him." It will be the family’s first public appearance since the tearful memorial at Australia Zoo, where Bindi spoke of her "hero" father as she read a poignant tribute she had written herself.

RAY LIOTTA’s new crime drama SMITH has been cancelled by US TV network CBS after only three episodes.
The GOODFELLAS actor starred alongside SIDEWAYS actress VIRGINIA MADSEN, JONNY LEE MILLER, AMY SMART and SIMON BAKER in the show, which focuses on the lives of a gang of professional criminals.
CBS have confirmed they are pulling Smith from their Tuesday night schedule after only attracting 8.5 million viewers and will fill the slot with re-runs of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION and CRIMINAL MINDS.

Supermodel NIKI TAYLOR is engaged to NASCAR Busch Series Driver BURNEY LAMAR.
Taylor, 31, and Lamar, 26, met at a charity event in January (06) and plan to wed early next year (07).
The model’s manager LOU TAYLOR confirmed the engagement to American publication Us Weekly.
Lamar got down on one knee at Taylor’s parents’ home in Florida on 15 September (06) to propose with a custom-made two-carat oval diamond in an antique setting.
Taylor suffered a near-fatal car accident in 2001 and has endured over 41 surgeries.
She is now fully recovered and owns a Nashville, Tennessee boutique called Abbie + Jesse’s.
Taylor has twin boys, JAKE and HUNTER, age 11, with her ex-husband MATT MARTINEZ, whom she divorced in 1996.
She also dated country music star KEITH URBAN on and off in 2002 and 2003.

The actress recently hit back at reports she was promiscuous before finding love with JOSH HARTNETT on the set of THE BLACK DAHLIA last year (APR05).
Johansson encourages responsibility when having sex telling Allure magazine, "I get tested for HIV twice a year.
"One has to be socially aware. It’s part of being a decent human, to be tested for STDs.
"It’s just disgusting behaviour when people don’t. It’s so irresponsible."

MEL GIBSON has spoken out for the first time since his arrest on drink driving charges and his subsequent anti-Semitic rant, insisting he doesn’t want to be a "monster".
The Oscar-winner spoke with US newswoman DIANE SAWYER for his first interview since issuing a public apology for what he called "vitriolic and harmful words".
The 50-year-old star has made few public appearances since his 28 July (06) arrest in Malibu, California, where he told his arresting officer, "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." When Sawyer asked him what caused his comments on the night of his arrest he said, "It was just the stupid rambling of a drunkard, you know and… what I need to do to heal myself and be assuring and allay the fears of others and to heal them if they had any heart wounds from something I may have said.
"So, this is the last thing I want to be is that kind of a monster." Gibson’s interview will air on US breakfast show GOOD MORNING AMERICA on Thursday (12OCT06) and Friday (13OCT06).
Gibson also granted an interview to Sawyer in 2004 about the controversy surrounding his last film, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, which some critics branded as anti-Semitic.
