Family and friends gathered at the First Baptist Church of Mexia, Texas, on Saturday (07.10.06) to pay tribute to Daniel, 20.
He died earlier this month while visiting his mother and baby sister in a hospital in the Bahamas. He had taken a lethal cocktail of drugs.
Around fifty people attended the hour-long ceremony although the former Playboy Playmate did not turn up.
Meanwhile, Anna Nicole’s ex-boyfriend has launched a legal battle to try and prove he is the father of her newborn daughter, Dannie Lynn.
Photojournalist Larry Birkhead filed papers last week demanding that she return to California with the child he claims is his.
The legal fight comes a week after Anna Nicole’s lawyer and lover, Howard K. Stern, said he was the child’s father - claims Larry has dismissed as "laughable".
He said: "I am not surprised he would say this but I am laughing at it. "There is absolutely no way that Stern is the father of this child. He knows it, I know it and that’s all there is to it." Larry is also seeking legal and physical custody of Dannie Lynn.

The ‘Tomb Raider’ star, her partner Brad Pitt and their children - five-year-old Maddox, 18-month-old Zahara and baby Shiloh Nouvel - were in the country filming new movie ‘A Mighty Heart’.
Angelina said in a statement: "We deeply appreciate the warm welcome we have received from the people of Pune, India.
"We are excited to have this chance for our children to learn about India’s wonderful culture and history." However, the couple’s trip was marred when a group of journalists stormed a rickshaw Angelina, Brad and Maddox were riding in on Sunday (08.10.06).
The family were forced to turn back, abandoning their shopping trip and go back to their hotels.
‘A Mighty Heart’ is about Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl who was murdered by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in 2002.
It was due to be filmed in Pakistan but the location had to be changed due to security concerns.
Disappointed Angelina said: "I had hoped to make this film in Pakistan, but after discussions with Pakistani officials it became clear that they would be more comfortable for us to film in India.
"We look forward to visiting Pakistan soon."

The ‘Halloween’ actress has decided to stop making films to spend more quality time with her husband, actor Christopher Guest and their two adopted children, Anne, 20, and ten-year-old Thomas.

LATEST: Pop queen MADONNA is travelling to Mphandula, 30 miles (50 kilometres) outside Malawi’s capital Lilongwe to oversee construction on a new children’s home.
The superstar, who is taking up long-term residence in the southern African nation, is funding the building of the Namitete Orphan Care Centre, which will house 400 children suffering from AIDS.
Construction company clerk DENIS NYANJA says, "She hasn’t visited this place yet, but we know she is in town and will visit us soon before she leaves." The centre will be run by Raising Malawi, a charity Madonna set up.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is fuming after two American tourists broke into his English country estate and filmed themselves strolling around his private grounds.
The trespassers broke into the former BEATLE’s home in Peasmarsh, East Sussex - shooting their break-in with a video camera before posting the footage on popular filesharing website YouTube.
A source close to McCartney - who is currently undergoing divorce proceedings with estranged wife HEATHER MILLS - says, "Macca (McCartney) is livid. He is supposed to have tight security to protect him and his family, but this pair walked straight in. It’s lucky they were harmless.
"He just didn’t need something like this happening. The divorce is giving him enough stress." On the footage, a woman is heard commenting, "This is it. This is his house.
It’s a beautiful house. It’s beautiful. Oh God, we’re going to be in so much trouble." It is unclear whether McCartney was in the house at the time. A spokesman for the rocker declined to comment.

British actress JENNIFER MOSS, former star of popular soap opera CORONATION STREET, has died. She was 61.
Moss found fame on the much-loved British show in 1960 as the street’s first wild child - the rebellious LUCILLE HEWITT.
The actress had a well documented drink problem, which was the main reason she parted with the show in the mid 1970s. She has battled the illness for many years but finally found happiness with her fifth husband STEVE RAMSDEN.
The couple moved to Dunfermline, Scotland, to run an internet stamp collecting business but Moss had suffered ill health for some years. She is survived by Ramsden.

Supermodel KATE MOSS has been named the most influential celebrity in the world, beating U2 singer BONO, soccer star DAVID BECKHAM, and pop queen MADONNA to the number one spot.
The list was compiled by experts looking at how many times a celebrity has been named in the media, who has the biggest magazine covers and the most entries on the UK branch of popular search engine, Google.

LATEST: BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE have endured another clash with paparazzi in India, forcing the Hollywood couple and their children to flee in a rickshaw.
Pitt and Jolie are staying in Pune while the TOMB RAIDER actress shoots scenes for new movie A MIGHTY HEART, and have attracted hordes of photographers to the city’s Le Meridian hotel, where they have taken up residence.
They were chased by photographers, cameramen and reporters when they took a 20 minute ride on a motorised rickshaw yesterday (08OCT06).
When traffic signals slowed their escape, security men travelling in a separate rickshaw were forced to jump out and surround the couple’s vehicle to limit the press intrusion.
Two fans on a motorbike skidded and fell on the busy road while also tailing the couple. Both were uninjured.
Security for the couple has been tight since their arrival along with children MADDOX, five , ZAHARA, 18 months, and SHILOH NOUVEL, four months.
On Saturday (07OCT06), a security guard protecting the family was reportedly filmed manhandling a British photographer. Two Indian journalists have also complained about the treatment they received at the hands of the unnamed man.

British playwright ALAN BENNETT was constantly ridiculed by the young cast of his stage play THE HISTORY BOYS, and was amazed they had such little respect for him.
Bennett admits the stars of The History Boys, now a critically acclaimed new movie, were never awed by the presence of such a prominent literary figure.
The award-winning writer recalls, "They took the mickey out of me relentlessly. There wasn’t a honeymoon period when there was a bit of respect, not to say veneration.
"The first day, when I was coming into the theatre, one of the cast was lounging by the stage door and someone said, ‘What are you doing here?’ And he said, ‘Oh I’m in this crap play about history - by the way, what’s the guy’s name? Oh, hello Alan.’"

"Music is the greatest proof of multiculturalism success. If it wasn’t for black musicians there wouldn’t have been rock ‘n’ roll and therefore no modern rock or indie music."
