WILLIAMS SUED BY FORMER MANAGER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

LATEST: British pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS is being sued for £300,000 ($540,000) after his former TAKE THAT manager objected to lyrics on his new song THE NINETIES.
In the outspoken track, Williams reveals he fantasised about hurting the pop mogul during his time with the chart-topping boy band.
But NIGEL MARTIN-SMITH believes the lyrics are defamatory and untrue, and yesterday (06OCT06) he served a High Court writ against Williams and his record label Chrysalis, demanding £300,000 in damages if the track is released.
The legal action could delay the 23 October (06) release of Williams’ forthcoming RUDEBOX album, where the track appears.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "This could seriously hamper the chances of Robbie’s album coming out on time.
"The major problem is that thousands of pounds have already been spent on an international marketing campaign to promote the album. From the record label’s point of view the album has to come out on time." Williams has publicly criticised Martin-Smith for years, claiming his former manager forced him to lose weight and even refused to pay him for a successful European tour with Take That.

Nicholson says, "(I’m) playing the field a little now, though not nearly as much as people like to think.
"(And) I do get rejected. I still owe Nicole Kidman an apology. I didn’t know she was engaged - or that she was standing with her fiance.
"Let’s just say I’m getting older. But I haven’t lost my sense of whimsy."

NORTON: ‘ECSTASY IS REALLY FUN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:21 pm

Irish comedian GRAHAM NORTON has sparked outrage by boasting about his drug intake, admitting he only avoids taking drugs regularly because he’s scared of hitting newspaper front pages.
The BBC TV presenter confesses in a magazine interview, "I’ve tried loads of drugs but it would bug me if I got busted in the tabloids as I take them so rarely." He also boasts he once took more than one ecstasy pill in a single night, saying, "It was just great - really, really fun." But his comments have provoked a furious response from British politicians and anti-drugs groups.
Member of Parliament GWYN PROSSER says, "I’ve spoken to parents whose lives were destroyed by drugs. These comments are grossly irresponsible." And PETER STOKER, of the National Drug Prevention Alliance, fumes, "Perhaps he’d like to ask the parents of people who died from ecstasy if they think it’s fun." The BBC is standing by the outspoken star, saying, "The issues reflect the frank and open nature of his personality."

MILLER APOLOGISES FOR PITTSBURGH SLUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:18 pm

British actress SIENNA MILLER has said sorry to residents of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for dubbing their city "S**tsburgh".
Miller’s remarks appear in a new magazine interview, in which she pleads with her interviewer to "pity" her for the location of her latest movie THE MYSTERIES OF PITTSBURGH, an adaptation of MICHAEL CHABON’s novel.
The 24-year-old says, "Can you believe this is my life? Will you pity me when you are back in your funky New York apartment and I am still in Pittsburgh? I need to get more glamorous films and stop with my indie year." The outburst has deeply offended locals, including Mayor LUKE RAVENSTAHL.
He says, "I think obviously we have a great town, and I disagree with her comments. I’m sure in her short experience here she hasn’t had the opportunity to have a real look around." On Friday (06OCT06), Miller apologised for the remarks in a statement, insisting she was referring to the fact the movie was shooting mostly at night and she had not had a chance to fully explore the city.
She added, "What I have seen of it is beautiful. I came once before to visit The Andy Warhol Museum whilst researching a film and found both the city and its inhabitants warm and gracious." She vowed to tour the city properly this weekend (07-08OCT06).
