SIMPSON KEEPS JOURNALS UNDER LOCK AND KEY WITH FRIENDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:15 pm

JESSICA SIMPSON has around 100 journals detailing her most intimate thoughts which the security conscious singer/actress gives to trusted friends to look after.
The 26-year-old admits keeping a journal is a risky thing for a superstar to do as she would be devastated if it was leaked to the media.
However, Simpson considers writing about her experiences therapeutic.
She tells US chat show host JIMMY KIMMEL, "Some nights I write in pencil, some nights I write in pen. Some nights I know what I write I’m gonna want to erase.
"I have about 100 and go through one (journal) every five months. It’s the only way to get to know myself.
"I keep them at a couple of friends’ houses. Just in case something were to happen I have them locked up in certain places. My little treasure chests."

LIOTTA’S JOY AT ENDING ADOPTION PAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:12 pm

Hollywood star RAY LIOTTA is pleased he summoned up the courage to trace his biological mother, because it gave him closure on the emotional pain he has endured since childhood.
The GOODFELLAS actor hired a private detective in 1997 to track down his mother, who left him in an orphanage when he was a baby.
The 51-year-old was adopted by MARY and ALFRED LIOTTA from a Newark, New Jersey orphanage when he was six months old.
But Liotta continually wondered what his life might have been like with his biological mum - when he did finally meet her, he discovered he isn’t Italian and that he has a half-brother.
Liotta says, "It has affected me since I was a little kid. When I was younger I felt like damaged goods.
"Now I realise I was not being selfish. Most people in their situation give up on their children so the kids can have a better life. It’s not because they don’t want them."

NICHOLSON: ‘I’M NO LONGER A WILDMAN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:12 pm

Ageing hellraiser JACK NICHOLSON plays along with press reports of his extensive partying, even though he spends most of his time at home.
The Oscar-winning legend, 69, enjoys reading stories of his excesses, despite most being untrue.
He says, "I don’t mind the wild stories about my personal life. Nowadays, they’re a good distance from the truth.
"I’ll play along, because it’s a good story. Even I believe it sometimes. But I’m slowing down.
"People would be astounded by how much I stay (at home). At my age, you begin to enjoy the solitude, the quiet. That’s OK if people think different. I love to keep them guessing, to see the surprise on their faces."

Spanish flamenco star RAFAEL AMARGO is celebrating after being awarded one of the dance’s top prizes.

The 30-year-old, who is due to tour China and Japan next year (07), received the Estrellas del Flamenco accolade from the venue’s artistic director, BLANCA DEL RAY.
He says, "I’m highly honoured. I realise today that performing at a tablao is the most difficult of things - dancing, you have to call up every ounce of what lies at the very heart of your being.
"I am very happy. This is real recognition from the flamenco world such as is very difficult to obtain." Del Rey paid tribute to the dancer who "shouted out his youth through every pore".
She enthused, "As well as talent he has true charisma. He has stood for pure art."

But despite the sexy role, Hunter admits she’s uncomfortable being a pin-up for her children’s pals.

But it’s completely that MRS ROBINSON thing. I think older women look a lot younger now." Hunter has two children with Stewart, RENEE and LIAM.

BELUSHI SELLS ‘RUNDOWN’ CAR TO CHAUFFEUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:09 pm

Actor JAMES BELUSHI sold a car to his chauffeur without telling him the vehicle was in a less-than-perfect condition, according to the driver.
TED LEWANDOWSKI, who was Belushi’s chauffeur when the star was filming UNDERDOG in Rhode Island in June (06), claims he bought a Land Rover off Belushi and soon after needed to pay $5,300 (£2,950) to repair it.
Lewandowski picked up the automobile - which he bought for his father - in Los Angeles and, while driving it back to Rhode Island, he was forced to stop in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The repairs reportedly included a new fuel pump, radiator, tyres and various body work. Lewandowski claims Belushi spoke to the mechanic, became convinced he was being scammed and refused to pay for the repairs.
Lewandowski tells US publication National Enquirer, "Jim Belushi took advantage of me. He pretended to be my friend and assured me he was selling me a good car. And now he won’t make it right.
"I bought the car for my father, who lives on a small pension and had to take on financing over four years to pay for it. And now we’re stuck with a $5,300 repair bill that Belushi won’t pay.
"Jim assured me it was a good car… and his assistant told me the only problem was a broken headlight washer.
"I flew out to LA to drive the car back to Rhode Island. Belushi was friendly, posed with me for a photo and gave me the impression he was doing me a favour by selling me the car."

COWELL BLASTS AIKEN OVER PRESSURE OF FAME COMMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:06 pm

SIMON COWELL has slammed AMERICAN IDOL runner-up CLAY AIKEN for confessing he has been prescribed anti-anxiety medication Paxil after struggling to come to terms with his fame.
Acid-tongued Cowell believes Aiken should not have complained about the pressures of stardom when he has achieved what millions of wannabes dream of.
Last month (SEP06), Clay insisted he has no problems stepping up on stage and performing in front of thousands but he suffers panic attacks in more intimate settings.
But Cowell says, "Oh, give me a break. Let me have a choice - I’m going to work in a coal mine for 14 hours a day or I’m going to be runner-up on American Idol. Give me a break, idiot.
"He’s not working for a living - he’s being famous. No one put a gun to his head.
"Clay, whatever he may have said, would not swap what he’s got now for what he had three years ago."

ORIGINAL DINOSAUR JR LINE-UP RECORDS FIRST ALBUM SINCE 1988

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:06 pm

The original line-up of DINOSAUR JR is recording its first studio album in 18 years.
The pioneering grunge trio - J MASCIS, LOU BARLOW and EMMETT ‘PATRICK’ MURPHY - came together for a reunion tour last year (05).
And, although it wasn’t planned, the band are now taping a follow-up to their 1988 disc BUG and are eyeing a spring 2007 release.
Barlow says, "We spent the better part of two years touring together, so we might as well make a record together.
"The reunion thing went well, considering we held up and enjoyed it. The new album is just a way of extending it. The band pretty much does one thing at a time. I thought we’d be done after the tour, but then the album magically popped up.
"We probably won’t do anything else, but then again, we’ll see." Mascis had continued to record under the Dinosaur Jr name until 1997, before the classic line-up reunited in 2005.

KNOWLES’ DAD CREATES JUNIOR HIP-HOP ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:06 pm

BEYONCE KNOWLES’ manager father MATHEW is so scared his grandchildren will pick up foul language from hip-hop music he’s created his own album of sanitised tunes.
Mathew, who already has a 23-month-old grandson thanks to Beyonce’s younger sister, SOLANGE, worries the young rap fan is picking up bad words from his favourite tracks. He’s produced KID’S RAP RADIO to help other parents with similar concerns.
The new album series features hip-hop singles remade with cleaned-up lyrics rapped by kids.
Mathew tells MTV, "When he (grandson) hears a rap, he goes nuts, dancing and saying the lyrics.
"It’s cute to watch, except for one problem. As a grandfather, I’m very concerned about what my grandson is saying.
"(The album) gives them the thumping music but changes the content so it’s parent-friendly, teacher-friendly and you feel good about your kids at that young age listening and repeating the lyrics." However, his project has come under fire from watchdog organisation Morality in Media, which fears the tunes will simply lure children to hip-hop from an earlier age.
Its president, ROBERT PETERS, says, "What this would do is get the kid used to the song, and then when the real stuff comes, wow - they’re going to be even more in tune with the (original version of the) song.
"Really, this has a lot of parallels to what the tobacco industry was doing before Congress cracked down, and that’s packaging an adult product to make it more appealing to children." As well as Kid’s Rap Radio, Volumes 1 & 2, Mathew’s record label Music World will also release KID’S RAP CHRISTMAS next month (NOV06).
