David Hasselhoff’s estranged wife has attacked him over his behaviour during their daughter’s recent alleged suicide attempt.
At first it was reported that 14-year-old Hayley had attempted to slash her wrist but it was later revealed that she had merely suffered a nasty scratch while playing with the family’s cat at her mother Pamela Bach’s home, in the San Fernando Valley area of California.
Hasselhoff was said to have telephoned the emergency services after his oldest daughter called him to inform her dad that her sister had been injured and it is believed the call was interpreted as a suicide bid by the operator.
His spokesperson, Judy Katz, said at the time: "Upon boarding an overnight flight for overseas, Mr Hasselhoff received a call from his oldest daughter alerting him that his younger daughter had received a severe scratch while playing with the dog and cat at her mother’s home.
"Mr Hasselhoff called 911 to report the incident and asked if they would send someone to check up on his child." Bach has now furiously refuted her husband’s claims, denying their eldest daughter, Taylor Ann, called him, and denying that he was boarding a plane at the time of the incident.
Bach instead claims Hasselhoff was actually near the house at the time of the accident.
In an email sent to UK-based entertainment news agency BANG Showbiz, Bach’s spokesperson fumed: "I represent Pamela Bach. Why are you buying Judy Katz’s story? DID DAVID SEE HIS DAUGHTER - NO - AND HE WAS IN TOWN. 10 MINUTES away from the house.
"And Taylor Ann did not call him."
