ANGELS IN AMERICA star PATRICK WILSON has heaped praise on MERYL STREEP’s daughter MAMIE GUMMER, insisting she has inherited her mother’s acting talent.
Wilson appears alongside Streep and Gummer in upcoming movie EVENING, in which Gummer plays the younger Streep character.
And he was amazed by how talented 23-year-old Gummer is, just like her mother.
Wilson says, "Her daughter has a very prominent role in the film. Meryl plays the older version of her daughter, which is very exciting.
"Having her daughter around is like having a spitting image of her."

Singer/actress PARIS HILTON claims she was punched in the face by former beauty queen SHANNA MOAKLER at Hollywood nightclub Hyde in the early hours of this morning (04OCT06).
Hilton alleges the estranged wife of rocker TRAVIS BARKER walked up to her at around 1am, "used the most vile of language" and then hit her in the jaw, according to her publicist ELLIOT MINTZ.
However, Moakler claims Hilton’s boyfriend STAVROS NIARCHOS bent her wrist back, before pouring a drink over her and pushing her down some stairs.
Both women have filed police reports alleging battery.
Hilton’s publicist Mintz tells ABCNews.com, "(Moakler) shouted a barrage of obscenities and attacked her.
"She called me right afterwards and told me that she did not need to go to the hospital, but that she would file a police report.
"I can’t say for certain why this happened, but Moakler is known to be upset by rumours that Paris is dating Travis Barker. Those rumours are not true. They are not dating." Hilton was recently linked to Barker in media reports. Barker and Moakler filed for divorce in August (06).

Italian actress ISABELLA ROSSELLINI is finding it difficult to find movie roles as she gets older, despite searching for decent parts.
The highly acclaimed 54-year-old, daughter of INGRID BERGMAN and ROBERTO ROSSELLINI, now realises how hard it is for ageing actresses to land film roles in Hollywood.
She says, "I’m not as busy as I used to be. Acting is a big part of my life.
But I, for sure, enjoy it.
"I just think there are fewer roles when you get older. Every other actress says that as well."

WEDDING CRASHERS star BRADLEY COOPER and CRASH star JENNIFER ESPOSITO are engaged.
Cooper, 31 and Esposito, 34, have kept their romance very low profile and refused to confirm rumours they were actually dating.
Esposito, who starred in the US sitcom RELATED, also dated BENJAMIN BRATT from 1996 to 1997.
Cooper joined the cast of ALIAS in 2001, and also starred in the short-lived US series KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL.
No wedding date has been announced.

Veteran model-turned-actress FRANCES BERGEN has died in Los Angeles after a long illness. She was 84.
Bergen, the wife of late ventriloquist EDGAR BERGEN and mother of actress CANDICE BERGEN, passed away at the Cedar-Sinai Medical Center on Monday (02OCT06). The cause of death has not been revealed.
Bergen was born Frances Westerman in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Hollywood with her mother after her father died.
Her husband passed away in 1978. Bergen is survived by Candice, her son KRIS BERGEN and a granddaughter.

JK ROWLING’s HARRY POTTER books should be banned from all public schools in Gwinnett County, Georgia because they promote witchcraft, a hearing heard yesterday (03OCT06).
Mother LAURA MALLORY brought the case to the state’s Board Of Education hearing after Gwinnett County officials decided to keep the Harry Potter books on their library shelves.
Mallory told the hearing that Rowling’s books encourage children to perform spells.
She said, "When my children are at school, I’m trusting them to the teachers and that school. They are my most precious things in the entire world to me. I surely don’t want them indoctrinated into a religion whose practices are evil." However, the Gwinnett school board attorney VICTORIA SWEENY countered, "When you start removing books and access to ideas, you would pretty soon have no use for a media centre." Following the 45 minute hearing, Buckland will now make a recommendation to Georgia’s Board Of Education.

TV legend FARRAH FAWCETT is battling cancer, according to press reports in the US.
Doctors discovered a malignant tumour in her lower intestine and she has been undergoing intensive radiation to shrink it.
According to US publication The National Enquirer, after Fawcett has surgery to remove the deadly cancer, the 59-year-old former CHARLIE’S ANGELS star will have to endure chemotherapy and more grueling radiation treatments.
The devastating news came after the star’s appearance on 27 August (06) at the Emmy Awards, where she was reunited with former co-stars JACLYN SMITH and KATE JACKSON during a tribute to TV producing legend AARON SPELLING.
A family friend tells the magazine that her illness has brought her back together with longtime love RYAN O’NEAL, who’s survived his own battle with leukaemia.
The source says, "After Farrah got the diagnosis - cancer of the anus and lower intestine - she was devastated. Everyone in the family cried for days. "Then she snapped out of it and told Ryan, ‘I’m going to beat this!’"

LATEST: TORI SPELLING has confirmed she is expecting her first child with husband DEAN McDERMOTT.
The former BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 star is more than three months along and is due in early spring (07).
Spelling, 33, confirmed the news to American publication Us Weekly saying, "Dean and I are thrilled to be expecting our first child together. I can’t wait to be a mom!" McDermott has a son, JACK, eight, and an adopted daughter, LOLA, one, from his marriage to MARY JO EUSTACE.
A source tells the magazine that Spelling has not told her estranged mother CANDY she is pregnant.
Spelling’s father AARON died in June (06) and Tori and her mother have been engaged in a public war of words.
The new grandchild will reportedly not affect the distribution of assets from Spelling’s will.
Spelling and McDermott are currently in Germany celebrating the first anniversary of the TV network Das Vierte and are due back in the US on 10 October (06) to prepare for the baby’s arrival.

The CAN’T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD star is returning to her home country to re-launch her Showgirl tour in Sydney, after winning her battle with breast cancer.

Minogue is the latest celebrity rumoured to be attending the ceremony - Oscar winner and fellow Australian NICOLE KIDMAN is reportedly attending along with new husband KEITH URBAN.
Kidman’s publicist WENDY DAY says, "She would love to go and is doing what she can with her schedule to make it happen." JACKASS: NUMBER TWO star JOHNNY KNOXVILLE will also attend the ceremony along with his new friends, Australian band WOLFMOTHER, who are up for five awards.
The actor became close to the rockers while filming the video for JOKER AND THE THIEF, which is the theme for the latest Jackass movie.

Actor/singer JACK BLACK insists there was only one clear choice when it came to casting his father in upcoming TENACIOUS D film THE PICK OF DESTINY- singer MEAT LOAF.
The film features Black and his bandmate KYLE GASS setting out to become the world’s greatest rock band.
Black claims casting Meat Loaf as his father was an easy decision saying, "We look alike, obviously… but it was mostly his energy that inspired us to cast him.
"Just watching him sing is an education in rock." Black insists getting the rocker to sign on wasn’t difficult adding, "We basically said, ‘Will you sing in the movie, yes or no?’ "He said, ‘For you guys, yes, because I like your stuff!’"

The LONDON BRIDGE star, real name STACY FERGUSON, kicked her drug habit years ago but admits she spent much of her youth partying - and fixing up her home.
She tells Rolling Stone magazine, "Me and my girlfriends would get ready, go out to the club, come home, change into my faux-fur coats and my sunglasses and rent a limo - spending all my child-actor money - and go to the club Garage that would start at 6 am and dance til 12. Then I graduated to crystal (meth).
"And it started being more about going to (hardware store) Home Depot at four in the morning and getting crafty at home. It became less of a fun thing and more of a habit."

JAMES McAVOY won’t "lose sleep" if he doesn’t get an Oscar nomination for his latest movie role - as he’s still surprised he gets any work at all.
The Hollywood newcomer has been tipped by critics for his performance in THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, but insists there was a time he doubted he’d ever make a movie.
The Scottish actor says, "I’m certainly not going to be losing any sleep if I don’t get nominated for this.

Madonna and her entourage landed on a private plane in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe early this morning, according to Mchiela.
She is expected to travel to the small village of Mphandula tomorrow (05OCT06), where she’ll help set up an education and feeding facility for children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic.

The domestic guru can’t figure out what she did wrong, suggesting she was only under investigation because she was the first woman to make a billion dollars in America.
Speaking to Life magazine, Stewart says, "When I say I really don’t know what I was accused of, I mean that.
"It was a very difficult time in American business. The clamping down on business behaviour, the intense scrutiny on very visible figures in America - I was one of them, because I was the first woman to make a billion dollars in America.
"So I sold some stock, and I was accused of doing something around that sale that really didn’t make too much sense, and I had to go to jail because I defended myself."

HELENA BONHAM CARTER has advised Hollywood colleagues to start acting their age and leave young roles for "actual 20-year-olds".
The British beauty, 40, is fed up of seeing mature actresses spend hours in make-up to play glamorous young women on screen, insisting older roles are more interesting.
She says, "It’s ridiculous. We’re all going to age and we have to start learning to accept it. I recently made a film called CONVERSATIONS WITH OTHER WOMEN and loved my character.
"She was a genuinely three-dimensional woman who was allowed to be in her late thirties, which is so refreshing in a world where people consistently try to be younger.
"We aren’t all 20 so why should we play parts where we’re trying to look it? There are actual 20-year-olds to do that."

Hollywood couple MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL and PETER SARSGAARD are celebrating the birth of their first child two weeks early, according to US reports.
The New York Daily News claims the actress was rushed to hospital yesterday (03OCT06), accompanied by her fiance, and hints she may have gone into early labour.
Internet reports allege the pair became new parents at 8pm local time the same evening at a New York City hospital. A source close to the couple reveals the daughter has been named RAMONA.
Gyllenhaal, 28, and Sarsgaard, 35, announced their engagement in April (06).
They weren’t expecting their baby for another 14 days.
