He says, "I will tell you right now - she will win the Oscar.
"She’s the best actress working today. Not actress, she’s an actor.
Intimidating, in a way, to work with an actor that good."

IRWIN’S ADVERTISEMENTS ALTERED AFTER DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 pm

A commercial advertising CROCODILE HUNTER STEVE IRWIN’s family wildlife park in Australia has been edited to remove a poignant comment from Irwin’s daughter BINDI.
Irwin’s business manager and long-time friend JOHN STAINTON described deleting eight-year-old Bindi’s comment "there’s a chance you’ll see my Dad there, too!" from the Australia Zoo ads as "incredibly sad".
Stainton said, "We had to remove the line because you wouldn’t see him again - you can’t promise something you can’t deliver, so it had to come out." The line was followed by Bindi saying "but best of all it’s my Australia Zoo", which remains in the ad that doesn’t feature her father.
Stainton said there was no need to take down billboards featuring the Crocodile Hunter’s enthusiastic grin along Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
He adds, "They are staying up - it’s not going to change. He will always have his name and image associated with the zoo." Irwin died after a stingray barb pierced his chest in an accident off the north Queensland coast on 4 September (06).

CHAN PREFERS CHINESE METHOD OF CAMERA TESTING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 pm

JACKIE CHAN prefers making movies in his native China when it comes to camera tests, because Hollywood directors spend a lot longer making sure everything is right.
The RUSH HOUR star thinks US film-makers are too perfectionist when it comes to camera testing.
He says, "American directors want to make sure that our colouring and costumes look right for the film. Sometimes, I think they seem to spend too much time on trying to get every detail right.
"In Chinese films, we just use our eyes to figure out if everything looks right."

SCOTT’S ABUSIVE STREAK INSPIRES CROWE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 pm

RUSSELL CROWE decided how to portray an Englishman living in rural France in new movie A GOOD LIFE when he saw British director RIDLEY SCOTT’s casually abusive manner towards the French.
Crowe found Scott’s unintentional nationalism fascinating - and it’s something he can relate to, being born a New Zealander in neighbouring Australia.
He says, "Ridley has had a house in Provence (France) for the last 15 years therefore the story of the Anglo-Franco dynamic is something that he knows absolutely.
"In talking to Ridley he will casually abuse French people without even be consciously aware that he’s doing it in an English manner, just as my French friends will casually abuse the English in the same way.
"As an outsider and a New Zealander born in Australia this to me was very funny. I wanted to examine that dynamic because this is two countries that share so much more common ground than they’ll care to admit.
"Yes, there’s a different language but there’s a sensibility and an understanding of life in both countries that is very similar though neither would ever admit that. There’s been many times they’ve been each other’s strongest and closest ally."

GLADYS KNIGHT BEFRIENDED TUPAC BEFORE HIS DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 pm

Slain rap star TUPAC SHAKUR found an unlikely soulmate in soul legend GLADYS KNIGHT in the months before his death after taking his mother and record boss SUGE KNIGHT backstage at one of her shows.
Despite his hard image, Knight reveals Shakur softened up in her company and the odd couple chatted about all manner of topics.
She recalls, "One time at a show I had an opportunity to talk to Tupac and Suge Knight for three hours in my dressing room. They both came by with their moms.
"I know they had their own trials and tribulations, but we got to talk to each other like human beings, and they opened up. They were just a couple of guys at that point.
"Tupac was saying how much he longed to have conversations like that, and that it was such a myth that his generation was fighting against ours and didn’t want to hear what we thought. He got killed not too long after that."

CHAN TURNS DOWN RAMBO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 pm

JACKIE CHAN turned down the chance to appear in the next RAMBO movie but hasn’t ruled out appearing alongside SYLVESTER STALLONE one day.
The Hong Kong action star is great friends with Stallone, and the pair have often promised each other they will team up on the big screen.
Fans hoped Stallone’s comeback as Vietnam veteran JOHN RAMBO would signal their first movie together.
But Chan says, "I love Sylvester Stallone, we even used to be business partners. Although I haven’t seen him in a while, I still hope to work with him someday. You know, the Chinese translation of Stallone includes the character for dragon, just like my name does. A lot of people would like to see a meeting of the dragons and maybe someday they will.
"So far we haven’t found a script that works for both of us and our schedules for the past few years have been so hectic. Maybe someday we’ll work together, but I don’t think it will be Rambo 4.
"There are a lot of other people that I’d love to work with as well. I think I would drop everything to be directed by Steven Spielberg in a film. I always wanted to work with the SCOTT brothers (RIDLEY and TONY) and I would love to act with Dustin Hoffman."

DANIEL SMITH DEATH INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 pm

LATEST: The investigation into the death of ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s 20-year-old son DANIEL will continue following the release of the latest toxicology reports.
Daniel was found dead in his mother’s hospital room three days after she gave birth to her baby daughter DANNIELYNN.
Authorities in the Bahamas received lab results from two facilities late Friday (29SEPT06) and police have determined that further investigation is needed.
Bahamas Chief Magistrate ROGER GOMEZ tells American publication People that the toxicology and tissue tests were conducted by two labs, including one in the US used by Smith’s private pathologist, DR CYRIL WECHT.
A source who has seen the test results has confirmed that they showed elevated levels of methadone and anti-depressant Zoloft in Daniel’s system.
Traces of the anti-depressant Lexapro were also reportedly found.
Gomez says the decision about whether to conduct an inquest will be made once police reports are finalised.
Despite the continuing investigation, Wecht believes an inquest is not necessary in the case.
He adds, "We have drug deaths in America all the time. The cause of death remains clear. The combination of these three drugs killed him.
"As for the manner, based on what I know, it was accidental."

MEGADEATH STAR DEVOTED TO YOGA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 pm

MEGADEATH singer-guitarist DAVE MUSTAINE has shunned the hard-partying that goes with life on the road and devoted himself to his yoga practice.
The 45-year-old decided to look after his health after falling asleep in a chair in 2002 and damaging the nerves in his left arm so badly that doctors predicted he’d never play guitar again.
He explains, "I do yoga, a lot of yoga. I’m doing a lot of healthy things which I know seems like a dichotomy, for a rock star to be taking care of himself." After his arm injury, Mustaine embarked on a regimen of physical therapy and electronic nerve stimulation to prevent his muscles from atrophying.
He’s back in top form and feeling better than ever thanks to his new clean-living lifestyle.
He adds, "I can look at my arms right now and know that one is a little smaller than the other, but I’m really the only one that can tell, besides the doctor."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 pm

Popstar and aspiring actress MARIAH CAREY was thrilled when she found out the producer of her latest film missed her performance in the box-office bomb GLITTER.
Producer LEE DANIELS cast Carey in the upcoming TENNESSEE after catching her performance in the 2002 independent drama WISEGIRLS.
Carey tells MTV News, "I don’t know if he’s seen (Glitter) since then, but the great thing is, he’s in the independent-film world and that’s where WiseGirls was such a great validating moment for me - even though it was totally overshadowed by the debacle of Glitter." The singer, who plays a waitress in Tennessee, as she did in Wisegirls, claims the role was a real departure adding, "The character is so not what you would think.
"This is not about hairdos and ensembles. The girl’s in the trenches."

KNIGHT STILL BITTER ABOUT STEVIE WONDER’S SONG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 pm

Soul legend GLADYS KNIGHT is still bitter pal STEVIE WONDER didn’t ask her to record UNTIL YOU COME BACK TO ME (THAT’S WHAT I’M GONNA DO) after she spent hours perfecting the classic song with him.
Knight sang the song for Wonder as he was writing it on the road - and then he gave it to ARETHA FRANKLIN.
The RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA singer recalls, "(Stevie and I) were on tour together, and he used to make me come and sing every day after the show.
"I would say, ‘Stevie, we just got done with a show and we’ve got four more to do (this week),’ but he would be like, ‘Oh, come on, Gladys. Just sing this part.’" Months later, Knight was horrified when she heard the tune on the radio: "I hear Aretha Franklin singing, ‘I’m gonna rap on your door…’ I said, ‘You’ve got to be out of your mind. What happened to my song? "Everytime I would see Stevie, I would tell him… Nobody talks about that song."

JACKSON AND TIMBERLAKE TO REUNITE?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 pm

Pop stars JANET JACKSON and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE are planning to reunite on national TV for the first time since their disastrous performance at the Super Bowl, according to press reports in the US.
The pair have barely spoken to each other since the infamous breast-baring incident in 2004 when Jackson’s nipple was exposed to millions of viewers during a performance of Timberlake’s hit ROCK YOUR BODY.
The half-time show received worldwide ridicule and cost US network CBS $550,000 (£306,000) in indecency fines.
Sources close to Jackson say she is in talks with Timberlake’s people to appear together in "some sort of big, live show like the Grammys or the Oscars" as the ultimate publicity stunt.
The source tells New York Post’s Page Six a reunion "will help re-boost the sales of their albums".
Jackson has just released 20 YO, while Timberlake is currently promoting FUTURESEX/LOVESOUNDS.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 pm

NICOLE KIDMAN is already inspiring new husband KEITH URBAN musically - she drove him to record one of his favourite tunes.
The Australian couple married earlier this year (06) and the country star admits the actress is already helping him make major career decisions.
He explains, "STUPID BOY was a song that was written and recorded by a new artist… named SARAH BUXTON.
"I played the song for Nic, and I said, ‘Man, I love this song; I need something like this on my record.’ She said, ‘Why don’t you just do that song?’ "Because it’s a girl singing it and my initial thought was, ‘I can’t say ’stupid boy’ like I’m telling it to someone else.’ And she said, ‘No, you’re looking in the mirror, singing this song.’"

GHOSTFACE KEEPS THE KILLAH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:00 pm

WU-TANG CLAN member GHOSTFACE KILLAH refuses to succumb to record company bosses’ demands to adopt a more radio-friendly stage name.
Born DENNIS COLES, the rapper’s sinister pseudonym originates from a Kung-Fu movie, and in the early days of the group, the look was completed with a white mask.
He says, "The reason I quit the mask thing, is, it was like, when I was doing shows with the mask on, people couldn’t really hear what I was saying." Coles was briefly known just as Ghostface, a move suggested by his producers at Def Jam Records. However, the nickname was dropped with this year’s (06) release of his album FISHSCALE.
"It always (really) was Ghostface Killah."

ARCTICS DEBUT CROWNED AS TOP STUDENT ANTHEM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:00 pm

THE ARCTIC MONKEYS’ debut single I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR has topped a poll as the favourite student anthem of all time.
The punk-inspired tune beat out competition from THE KILLERS’ MR BRIGHTSIDE and KAISER CHIEFS’ rousing hit I PREDICT A RIOT, which took second and third place respectively.
The survey, conducted by British magazine the NME’s Student Guide, consulted over 200 student DJs.
FRANZ FERDINAND’s TAKE ME OUT came fourth, while older hits including THE SMITHS’ THIS CHARMING MAN and JOY DIVISION’s LOVE WILL TEAR US APART made it into the top ten.
NME student editor DAN SILVER says, "Its no surprise that the Arctic Monkeys have taken the top spot - I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor is a worthy winner always guaranteed to pack any Student Union bar with revellers. "It’s great to see some old classics can still work their magic too."

SKIDS STAR MISTAKES THE EDGE FOR SPOOF CALLER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:00 pm

U2 guitarist THE EDGE stunned former THE SKIDS frontman RICHARD JOBSON when he contacted him about recording his 1970s punk track THE SAINTS ARE COMING - and the Scottish rocker was convinced he was the victim of a prank call.
U2 and GREEN DAY were keen to rerecord the anthem as a charity track for the victims of 2005 disaster Hurricane Katrina, and wanted to invite Jobson to London’s famous Abbey Road studios to join them.
Jobson recalls, "I was so sure somebody was taking the p**s. I was saying, ‘Yeah, right, okay, sure.’ "The Edge was quite startled by how blase (impassive) I was. Then it began to dawn on me - with deep embarrassment - this was The Edge." Jobson, now a successful film-maker, was soon put at his ease by the charming axeman. "He said, ‘You know, good work never dies, it just goes to sleep for a while until somebody wakes it up.’ "That’s all I needed to hear. It made me feel so proud."
