TUMOUR WOULD HAVE BLINDED WATSON
LATEST: British opera star RUSSELL WATSON was in danger of being blinded by the tumour removed from his brain this week (begs25SEP06) Builder-turned-singer Watson was admitted to a London hospital after suffering from headaches and bad vision - caused by the tumour pressing against his optic nerve. His spokesperson reveals, "If it had been left any longer, he’d almost certainly have lost his eyesight completely." The 39-year-old was discharged from St George’s Hospital in the British capital on Thursday (28SEP06), after undergoing a five-hour operation to remove the three-inch (7.5-centimetre) growth.
