DOCTOR WHO IN THE RECORD BOOKS
British cult show DOCTOR WHO has blasted into the record books as the longest running television show of its type.
The Guinness World Records has awarded the BBC show the category of longest running sci-fi series for its 2007 edition.
The show has seen more than 700 episodes, 173 storylines and ten different actors in the role of the Time Lord since it first aired in 1963.
The latest actor to play the Doctor, DAVID TENNANT, admits he became an actor after watching the show when he was a kid.
He says,"I took one look at TOM BAKER as Doctor Who and decided it was the job for me.
"I was convinced that when I was old enough I was going to play the part of the Doctor on TV."
