BILLY BOB THORNTON fears he was hanged in a previous life because he feels claustrophobic in a tie.
The quirky movie star was forced to don a suit and tie for his new role as a self-help guru in SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS - and he hated every minute of dressing up.
He says, "I’m not much of a suit wearing kind of guy and my manager is; he’s always trying to talk me into it. He just loved it when he saw the script and he’s finally gonna get this guy in a suit.
"I feel real weird in suits. I’m real claustrophobic wearing a tie; I must’ve been hanged in a previous life.
"It’s funny when you put on a suit and you kind of change your attitude. You put the whole rig on and you feel and walk differently. It gave me more confidence and made me feel arrogant."

RUSSELL CROWE has confirmed he and director RIDLEY SCOTT are plotting to bring his GLADIATOR character back from the dead in a sequel to the hit 2000 epic.
Crowe’s character MAXIMUS was killed off at the end of the first movie, but that’s just a small detail as Scott and Crowe plan ahead.
The actor reveals, "We talk about it every now and then. We did kind of make it tricky for ourselves, considering we killed the character at the end of the first one. But that’s not necessarily going to stop us.
"There have been stranger things happen out of Hollywood… There’s a, sort of, what happens in the after-life question." Last month (AUG06), Scott too revealed he is planning a Gladiator sequel.

BILLY BOB THORNTON’s tardiness cost him dear on the set of new film SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS - because punctual co-star MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN bet him he couldn’t arrive on time.
THE GREEN MILE star felt he could teach his pal a lesson and make a little extra on the side, and he insists he plans to make sure Thornton honours the bet.
Clarke Duncan says, "Billy Bob owes me something like $10,000. We had a bet that every time he was late to set he had to give me $1,000 - and he was late a number of times. I’m gonna get it one way or the other." The heavyweight star insists Thornton’s off-set hellraising was the reason for his tardiness, adding that his pal would be in big trouble if it wasn’t for his baby daughter BELLA.
Clarke Duncan explains, "He’s a caring father and he loves his daughter to death and she is so beautiful. That’s the only reason he’s alive right now.
"He’s gonna owe me that money because I want his daughter to grow up with a father."

Actor/director PATRICK QUINN suffered a massive heart attack and died at home in Pennsylvania yesterday (24SEP06), just 10 days before taking over as the executive director of US theatre union Actors’ Equity.
The 56-year-old, who had been the union’s president since 2000, was slated to take over the top position from ALAN EISENBERG on 5 October (06).
A stage star, Quinn appeared on Broadway, New York in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, BEAUTY & THE BEAST and a 1998 revival of THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

Actress MARCIA CROSS was horrified when she discovered DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES producers planned to marry her character off in the same church she exchanged vows in for real this summer (06).
Show bosses had earmarked the Church Of Our Savior Episcopal Parish in San Gabriel, California for the TV wedding of Cross’ character BREE and her new fiance, played by KYLE MacLACHLAN, without realising the actress was planning her own nuptials there.
She says, "They wanted to use that set for me to get married in on the show.
Someone came up to me and said, ‘We just got a phone call that you actually got married in that church - would you mind if we…
"I was like, ‘No, why don’t you find another church.’" Pregnant Cross married TOM MAHONEY in the church in June (06).

MARY POPPINS star DAME JULIE ANDREWS will be honoured with a Life Achievement Award at next year’s (07) Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The beloved stage, film, television and recording star and author, will receive the Guild’s most prestigious tribute in January (28JAN07).

LATEST: DAVID HASSELHOFF and ex-wife PAMELA BACH are fighting mad again after the actress/singer’s claims the BAYWATCH star lied to cops when reporting his teenage daughter’s alleged suicide attempt.
Hasselhoff allegedly called police to report that his daughter HAYLEY, 14, had attempted suicide at the family home last night (24SEP06), but now Bach accuses her ex of making the call out of pure revenge.
Bach spoke exclusively to website TMZ.com this morning (25SEP06) and insisted her daughter never attempted suicide, claiming Hasselhoff threatened her with the police call, telling her in a phone conversation, "You’re going down. I’m calling the police." Bach insists her daughter was scratched by the family cat on Sunday night and was crying uncontrollably, so she called her ex and suggested that it might be appropriate for the girl to see a psychologist.
But, she claims, her ex-husband launched a verbal attack on her and called in a suicide, prompting police and paramedics to come to the house and take the 14-year-old to hospital.
Hasselhoff’s publicist JUDY KATZ insists her client became alarmed when his older daughter called to say her sister was bleeding. She denies claims that the actor reported a suicide attempt but accepts the operator he spoke to may have interpreted it that way.
Hasselhoff denies he even spoke with Bach on Sunday night, and says her allegations are false.

A forgotten JOHNNY CASH concert from 13 years ago is to be released on DVD next month (OCT06).
Footage from JOHNNY CASH IN IRELAND has rarely be seen, and then only in highlight form.
The 1993 concert features performances from the late country great’s wife JUNE CARTER CASH, his son JOHN CARTER CASH, KRIS KRISTOFFERSON and Irish singer SANDY KELLY.
The hour-long show, at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, was recorded for an Irish television production.
The concert features Cash classics like I WALK THE LINE, FOLSOM PRISON BLUES and RING OF FIRE.
Cash also performs FORTY SHADES OF GREEN - his tribute to all things Irish with Kristofferson and THE CARTER FAMILY.
The Ireland concert came after Cash had recorded THE WANDERER with rockers U2 for their album ZOOROPA.

Country star KENNY CHESNEY has given up on his acting dreams after hating every minute of his short debut in his new video.
The singer/songwriter, who was briefly married to Oscar winner RENEE ZELLWEGER, acts out scenes in YOU SAVE ME and admits it was a terrible experience.
He says, "Everybody says, ‘You did a really great job acting for the first time,’ and I really didn’t. It’s only two lines! And the rest of it’s editing.
"It took us two days to shoot that five-minute intro to You Save Me and I realised then that I didn’t want to be an actor. I didn’t leave there wanting more. I don’t aspire to do that."

The JENNY WAS A FRIEND OF MINE star wishes Yorke would stop writing experimental rock and return to the style of radio-friendly 1990s hits such as CREEP and KARMA POLICE.
Flowers says, "He should feel grateful that he’s been given the gift to write pop songs - which he needs to write again."

GUNS N’ ROSES’ first southern California show for 14 years fell on largely deaf ears on Saturday night (23SEP06) as fans gave up on the group after frontman AXL ROSE arrived on stage an hour late.
The SWEET CHILD O’ MINE rockers were slated to headline the Inland Invasion festival just before midnight, but unpredictable Rose didn’t hit the Hyundai Pavilion stage until 1am.
By then, many fans had already drifted off after watching the likes of MUSE and actor JARED LETO’s band 30 SECONDS TO MARS, and more left when Rose and his new-look group started playing new material instead of hits.
But Rose, 44, was undeterred by the dwindling crowds and impressed those who stayed with a two-hour set fuelled by his gym workout-like performance.
Fan DAVID GRINT says, "Axl was amazing. It wasn’t always pretty but he can still hit the high notes and he’s still all-energy.
"Unfortunately, there were a lot of breaks for costume changes and a few too many guitar solos and new songs." Among the highlights were a cover of CHRISTINA AGUILERA’s BEAUTIFUL and a duet with SKID ROW’s SEBASTIAN BACH on Guns N’ Roses fan favourite MY MICHELLE.
