JANET JACKSON piled on the pounds for a film role only to discover fellow singer MARIAH CAREY won the part.
Jackson gained 68 pounds (31 kilograms) for new movie TENNESSEE in vain, and has been trying to lose the weight ever since.
She says, "Once in a blue moon I get a treat of a couple of nuts."
