KEVIN FEDERLINE’s ex-girlfriend SHAR JACKSON refuses to meet his children with BRITNEY SPEARS because she wants to keep her life separate from the pop star.
Jackson and Federline have a son, KALEB, two, and a daughter, COREY, four, while Federline also has two sons with Spears, SEAN PRESTON, one, and SUTTON PIERCE, who was born on 12 September (06).
Although Jackson considers Spears a part of her children’s "extended family" she draws the line at meeting her children’s step-siblings, Sean and Sutton.
In an appearance on the DR KEITH ABLOW SHOW, to be screened on Thursday (21SEP06), she insists, "I like to keep my distance." Federline left Jackson while she was pregnant with their second child and went on the European leg of Spears’ tour shortly after meeting her in a Hollywood nightclub.
Jackson insists she wasn’t sorry that her own relationship with Federline broke-up, but was devastated that her children’s stable family life was in jeopardy.
She explains, "As far as I was concerned, I was OK that the relationship ended…but the family breaking up is something painful.
"And honestly I didn’t let it happen. Now in the beginning it was rough, because he was overseas, so I really didn’t have much control over there.
"But when he came back home, I told him, ‘Kevin, I’m not going to let you be a convenient father, when it’s convenient for you.’ "If you are going to be part of these kids’ lives, then you’re going to be a part. If not, then you’re not.’"
