MADONNA will be able to celebrate in style when she completes her Confessions world tour in Tokyo, Japan, tomorrow (21SEP06), after learning she has scored the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist.
Although it will take a few days before the numbers become official, her tour producer claims the pop superstar has made $193.7 million (£107.2 million) from 60 shows that drew well over a million fans.
If that gross is confirmed, Madonna will claim CHER’s title of tour queen after the BELIEVE singer scored a gross of $192.5 million (£106.9 million) from her 273-show Farewell Tour, which ran from 2002 to 2005.

JESSICA SIMPSON’s manager father JOE is cashing in on his daughter’s movie success by opening a new restaurant chain, called Daisy Dukes.
The former minister will reportedly launch the barbecue-style diner chain in Las Vegas, Nevada, before opening up other restaurants across America.
An insider tells Life & Style magazine that Simpson hopes to open the first Daisy Dukes next year (07) and is hoping his busty daughter will make promotional appearances there.
Daisy Duke is the name of the character Jessica played in THE DUKES OF HAZZARD movie.

Socialite PARIS HILTON thrilled a homeless man in Hollywood last night (19SEP06) when she handed him a $100 bill.
The cheeky beggar raced up to the wannabe singer’s car as she was leaving a McDonalds fast food restaurant and asked her for $100 (£55).
Bystanders heard him drop his price to just $1, but, with cameras from website TMZ.com focused on her, Hilton decided she was feeling generous.
A source says, "Paris reached down beside her and handed the man a crumpled $100 bill. She then stopped to pose for pictures with the homeless guy, who offered to wash her windows, before racing off."

Former DYNASTY co-stars JOAN COLLINS and LINDA EVANS were stunned by the fall out from the latter’s famous kiss scene with AIDS sufferer ROCK HUDSON because so many people thought she was contagious.
Evans and Hudson locked lips in a famous Dynasty episode in 1982, when AIDS didn’t even have a name, and cast and crew shunned the actress for getting intimate with the tragic star.
She recalls, "Everyone was completely panicked… Some of the people on the set wouldn’t come near me because they had children and they didn’t want to potentially hurt their children; they didn’t know if it would be a problem or not.
"I understand people go through fear but I knew Rock; I had worked with Rock… and I had done a scene with Rock where he was quite passionate with me.
"When he kissed me that way (in Dynasty) we had to reshoot it because it wasn’t passionate enough. When I found out he was sick I understood why he shot it that way - to protect me." Collins reveals behind the scenes, ignorant make-up crew and hairdressers were frantically trying to avoid Hudson and everything he touched.
She recalls, "People were so ignorant that my hairdresser said to me in the dressing room, ‘Don’t sit there, he’s been sitting there,’ and then, ‘Don’t touch that comb, we’re going to throw it away.’ It was an atmosphere of total fear."

Former wrestler JOANIE LAURER is urging ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s handlers to pay close attention to her pal as she mourns the loss of her son - because she fears the busty blonde could do something drastic to relieve her pain.
Laurer teamed up with Smith in upcoming comedy ILLEGAL ALIENS and the two became close friends, and now the ex-wrestler wants her pal’s aides to make sure Anna Nicole is never left alone.
She says, "I think she should be closely monitored - absolutely I do." Smith’s son DANIEL died in his mother’s hospital room in the Bahamas on 10 September (06) aged 20, after flying to the islands to meet his baby sister, who was born three days before.

LATEST: GREY’S ANATOMY star PATRICK DEMPSEY and wife JILLIAN are expecting twin boys.
Dempsey, who plays DR DEREK SHEPHERD in the hit show, appeared on US chat show LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY today (20SEPT06), and he confirmed the news. Co-host KELLY RIPA said, "I hear congratulations are in order." The star replied, "Yes, yes, we’re expecting twins, actually. That’s the news now, so we’re excited. A little nervous. My wife looks beautiful, she’s doing great. We’re thrilled.
"We’re done after this. (We’re having ) boys. Yeah, so it’s exciting." The couple already have four-year-old daughter TALLULAH.
He adds, "My daughter, she’s excited as well. She knows and she’s practicing on her dolls changing diapers and things like that, so we’re encouraging that!"

Movie veteran TONY CURTIS has cut his daughter JAMIE LEE out of his life after accepting the fact "she really doesn’t care for me".
The 81-year-old SOME LIKE IT HOT star has been trying to play dad to the actress for years, but now feels he’s wasting his time because Jamie Lee will never forgive him for abandoning her as a child.
Curtis ended his 11-year marriage to actress JANET LEIGH when his daughter was a child, and he’s convinced she set out to distance herself from her dad at that point.
He says, "I have a feeling she wanted to teach me a lesson for abandoning her mother and her.
"(But) I couldn’t be with Janet Leigh anymore. She was disappearing into her own madnesses."

Media mogul TED TURNER has blasted the politicians who sent US troops to war in Iraq, claiming the invasion ranks among the "dumbest moves of all time".
The CNN founder, who was married to actress JANE FONDA, made his comments at a Reuters dinner in New York City as US President GEORGE W BUSH addressed the United Nations General Assembly less than a mile away.
Turner told the gathered media at the event that the US invasion of Iraq has caused "incalculable damage", claiming it will take 20 years to overcome.
He barked, "It will go down in history, it is already being seen in history, as one of the dumbest moves that was ever made by anybody. A couple of others that come to mind were the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor and the German invasion of Russia.
"You don’t start wars just because you don’t like somebody." The outspoken billionaire also used the occasion to defend the right of Iran to have nuclear weapons and the effectiveness of the United Nations.
He called Bush’s plans to demand Iran abandon its nuclear ambitions "a joke", adding, "They’re a sovereign state. We have 28,000 (bombs). Why can’t they have 10? We don’t say anything about Israel… or India or Pakistan or Russia.
"Really, nobody should have them. They aren’t usable by any sane person."

California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has endorsed a new book by his ex-girlfriend even though it vilifies the former action man as a pot-smoking womaniser.
The TERMINATOR star has written the foreword to BARBARA OUTLAND BAKER’s new book ARNOLD & ME: IN THE SHADOW OF THE AUSTRIAN OAK, despite the fact his ex is less than kind about her romance with him.
Baker, who was a student when she met and fell for Schwarzenegger in 1969, admits she didn’t know what to make of the bodybuilder when he first asked her out, confessing, "I didn’t know what to call him - a sub-human monster or an out-of-this-world Adonis." The 58-year-old college lecturer, who lost her virginity to Schwarzenegger, goes on to detail her famous ex’s voracious sexual appetite and reveals he introduced her to pot and was fond of Hawaiian marijuana he dubbed "Mauiwowie cannabis".
But the relationship ended in 1976 after Baker learned of her boyfriend’s infidelities and she began having affairs of her own.
Two years later (78), Schwarzenegger wed JOHN F KENNEDY’s niece MARIA SHRIVER and embarked on a movie career, while Baker went on to wed four times.
The two kept in touch and Baker admits she never regrets the eight years she spent with Arnie: "He was a man who touched my life." And, despite the fact that the book is far from complimentary about the Governor, Schwarzenegger agreed to pen the preface, stating, "When I was only 22, and soon after I arrived in California from Europe, I met someone who had an important influence on my life at what was a very critical juncture… I remember our time together with great fondness."

Late-night US comedy sketch show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE will debut on 30 September (06) without five key castmembers. In addition to the previously announced departures of TINA FEY and RACHEL DRATCH, who are working on the prime time comedy 30 ROCK, eight-year veterans CHRIS PARNELL and HORATIO SANZ have been sacked, as well as FINESSE MITCHELL.
The cast for the upcoming season will be made up of FRED ARMISEN, WILL FORTE, BILL HADER, DARRELL HAMMOND, SETH MEYERS, AMY POEHLER, MAYA RUDOLPH, ANDY SAMBERG, JASON SUDEIKIS, KENAN THOMPSON and KRISTEN WIIG. The show will begin its 32nd season with just 11 regular players - down nearly one-third from last year’s(05) cast of 16 and one of the smallest ensembles in recent memory. Rumours swirled in the media about who might be leaving the show after creator LORNE MICHAELS told reporters that budget cuts had forced him to make tough choices about the upcoming season. Comedian DANE COOK will host the first show in the new season with THE KILLERS appearing as guests.

Members of ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s family are convinced medics in the Bahamas will rule the actress/model’s son DANIEL died from heart problems when they conclude their investigations next month (OCT06).
Two autopsies have proven inconclusive as reports of murder and suicide circulate following Daniel’s death in the Bahamas last week (10SEP06).
But relatives of the dead man, who was reportedly taking prescription anti-depressants when he died, are convinced they already know the outcome of the investigation, which is being hampered by complex blood and toxicology tests.
Daniel’s cousin MELINDA HUDSON says, "One of our cousins suffered a heart attack at age 14. We believe it’s a genetic thing."

Former couple BRUCE WILLIS and BROOKE BURNS are reportedly plotting a reunion after they were spotted meeting up in the back room of a Los Angeles tattoo parlour.
The couple was joined by Willis’ daughter RUMER and the actress’ six-year-old MADISON when they met up for a cosy chat earlier this month (SEP06) at the Shamrock Tattoo parlour.
Former BAYWATCH star Burns was so desperate to keep the meeting top secret, she begged parlour workers who recognised her not to take photos, but one insider has since blabbed to the US media.
The source tells the National Enquirer that Willis was at the parlour getting a tattoo when Burns unexpectedly joined him.
Willis and Burns dated for 10 months before splitting in June 2004. A source told America’s People magazine that the couple decided to end their romance because they were struggling to spend time together.

LATEST: A planned jury inquest into the death of ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s son DANIEL may be cancelled if tests prove he died of natural causes after all. Daniel died in his mother’s hospital room in the Bahamas on 10 September (06) aged 20, just three days after the birth of his half-sister HANNAH.
According to Chief Magistrate ROGER GOMEZ, authorities are reconsidering the need for the inquest, which had been scheduled for 23 October (06) and would have included Anna Nicole as a witness. Gomez insists pending toxicology tests may in fact show that Daniel’s death was not suspicious after all. He says, "If the results show that the cause of death was natural, then there will be no inquest." Media reports have claimed that Daniel was taking anti-depressant medication when he died and that he may have even been hospitalised for an elevated heart rate and stomach problems.

JAKOB DYLAN has recorded the theme song for LOST creator JJ ABRAMS new drama SIX DEGREES.
The show will regularly feature new songs by Dylan including STARDUST UNIVERSE.
On teaming with Abrams, Dylan jokes, "JJ promised me that I can see episodes of Lost before anyone else, but that had nothing to do with my saying yes." Dylan’s songs from the series are expected to be available on iTunes after the shows air.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE has scored a major double in the US charts - hitting number one with both his single and album.
The pop superstar has spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard singles chart with SEXYBACK, and now he’s celebrating his first number one solo album.
FUTURESEX/LOVESOUNDS has crashed into the top spot after selling 684,000 copies in its first week, toppling BEYONCE KNOWLES’ B’DAY in the process.
That’s a big jump in sales for the former ‘N SYNC star - his first album, JUSTIFIED, debuted at number two in 2002 with first week sales of 439,000.
JOHN MAYER also scores a big debut at number two - his new album, CONTINUUM, enjoyed opening-week sales of 300,000.
Beyonce drops to three, while BOB SEGER and BOB DYLAN represent the classic rockers - Seger enters the new chart at number four with his first album in more than a decade, FACE THE PROMISE, while Dylan’s former number one, MODERN TIMES, rounds out the top five.
LIONEL RICHIE debuts at number six with COMING HOME, which marks his first top 10 placing on the chart for 20 years.
The only other debut in the new top 10 is THE MARS VOLTA’s AMPUTECHTURE, which enters the chart at nine.

AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN has spoken out about reports he’s gay, insisting people now refuse to believe he is heterosexual.
The INVISIBLE singer has maintained his silence during recent tabloid attacks on his sexuality, but, as he launches his new album, he’s keen to set the record straight in America’s People magazine.
Despite claims from a former soldier that he romanced Aiken after they met online, and a potential class action lawsuit filed against him by former fans upset about his alleged homosexual leanings, the singer insists he isn’t gay.
He tells People magazine, "What do you say? It’s like when I was eight, I remember something would get broken in the house, and Mom and Dad would call me in and say, ‘Did you do this?’ "It didn’t matter what I said. The only thing they would believe was, ‘Yes.’ People are going to believe what they want."

Pop star JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE insists his relationship with CAMERON DIAZ is perfect the way it is and that they don’t feel the need to get married. The SEXYBACK singer appeared on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO last night (19SEPT06), and the talk show host asked him if he is ready to tie the knot. Leno began by asking about Timberlake’s choice of album title FUTURESEX/LOVESOUNDS - and tried to discover the meaning behind the name. Leno asked, "So what is your future sex? Any marriage thing going? How’s that thing with Cameron?" Timberlake pretended to be shocked saying, "Marriage?! That’s the thing about that - we like having sex! Why would we want to ruin a good thing and get married?" When the audience reacted, Timberlake tried to cover by saying, "Bad joke! Bad joke!" Leno insinuated that Diaz might not appreciated the joke quipping "You won’t be laughing when you get home!"
