ROLLING STONES star RONNIE WOOD is so desperate to see bandmate KEITH RICHARDS in costume as JOHNNY DEPP’s pirate dad in the second PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequel he’s begging him to turn up to band rehearsals in full costume.
Impatient Wood can’t wait to see his pal in the third Pirates movie and instead wants to see what he’ll look like on the big screen as soon as possible.
And when he heard that Richards will be flying in for band’s next rehearsal date in Boston, Massachusetts, he urged the rocker not to bother changing.
He says, "They’re filming as we speak, and he’s gonna come to the next rehearsal in Boston dressed in his pirate gear." Wood reveals his bandmate is thrilled about his film role as Depp’s dad, but he wasn’t delighted about his accessories: "He said, ‘I’m not allowed to shave, and they’re gonna start tying bits on the growth from my face to get into pirate mode.’"

British pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS has cancelled the Asian leg of his current world tour, blaming stress and exhaustion.
The ANGELS star was scheduled to visit Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Mumbai (Bombay) and Bangalore in November (06) - but his spokesman insists that, after forcing himself to struggle through dates in Europe and upcoming shows in South America, honouring his Asian concerts is "asking too much".
The singer’s representative said Williams, who has been performing in Milton Keynes, England, this week (begs10SEP06), is "extremely tired" after kicking off his tour in May.
Hitting the "entirely new territories" of India and China "would have greatly added to his workload".

British comedian DAVID WALLIAMS loves the rumours about his sexuality in the British press, and confesses he courts the attention.
Although Walliams is often seen in the company of eligible single female celebrities, most recently GEORGE CLOONEY’s ex-lover LISA SNOWDON, he spends an equal amount of time with famous gay pals.
Tabloid The Sun has raised question marks over his sexuality, even printing a gay-o-meter, measuring how heterosexual or homosexual he is from day to day.
But Walliams - who plays a transsexual in comedy sketch show LITTLE BRITAIN loves the speculation. He says, "You take it with the fun that’s meant.
"When I kissed WILL YOUNG on Parky (British TV chat show PARKINSON), it exploded! I think it’s actually a very funny thing and in the show we play up to the campness, so I can hardly complain The Sun is having a little laugh at me."

Hollywood director OLIVER STONE has slammed critics who accuse him of focusing too much on political films.
Stone, whose new film WORLD TRADE CENTER is released this month (09AUG06), insists he has made many movies that have nothing to do with either politics or conspiracies.
And he wants to be appreciated for more than films like NIXON and JFK.
He says, "People always look for conspiracies and politics with me, but I’ve not just made political films. I’ve made a football movie, a financial movie, a love story, spiritual discovery. I don’t know why they always say I’m political."

A film starring SACHA BARON COHEN’s much-loved character BORAT will be screened by internet networking website MySpace ahead of its official release.
MySpace has announced it will host showings of BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN in 25 cities - and tickets will only be available to MySpace users.
Borat already has a MySpace profile, where he lists his hobbies as "trampoline, table tennis, sitting on comfytobale (sic) chairs, disco dance and shoot dog".
Cohen has said, "Borat is based actually on a guy I met in southern Russia.

LITTLE BRITAIN comic MATT LUCAS insists he is "marrying" his gay partner for love - but also to ensure the loved-up twosome share the same rights as straight couples. The British funnyman is due to wed long-term partner, TV researcher KEVIN McGEE, in a civil partnership ceremony later this year (06). He says, "We’re going to have a civil partnership, or marriage, or whatever you like to call it.
"We are very much in love, but also it’s important that gay couples have the same rights as straight couples."

A lost audio tape featuring the late SIR LAURENCE OLIVIER starring in theatrical production THE ENTERTAINER has been discovered nearly 50 years after it was made.
The footage was recorded at London’s Palace Theatre in 1957 by music giant EMI, but the quality was so bad it simply became buried in the company’s archives.
However, a member of staff recently unearthed it and the tape has now been cleaned and digitally remastered.
Olivier’s third wife, DAME JOAN PLOWRIGHT says, "I’m very interested that it’s been discovered. I shall be fascinated to listen to it."

Eccentric British TV star RUSSELL BRAND received a shock when Hollywood funnyman WILL FERRELL groped his behind during the taping of his TV show 1 LEICESTER SQUARE.
The wild-haired lothario, notorious for his outrageously flirty behaviour and sexual innuendoes, found himself in an awkward position when the microphone in his back pocket became dislodged.
And Ferrell wasted no time in reach into Brand’s back pocket and enthusiastically readjusting the errant equipment.

The actors are trying to convince director MICHAEL MANN that a second film would be beneficial to everyone, despite the action adventure film’s dismal result at box offices.
An insider tells Moviehole.net, "Colin and Jamie really hit it off on Miami Vice but they were disappointed the film didn’t do better.
"They very much want to work together again and they both want another Vice.
They feel there is scope for another story".

Spanish actress PENELOPE CRUZ is taking a break from making movies, so she can plan a career behind the camera. After a prolific past few years, the VOLVER star wants to spend some down time and choose her next leading role carefully - while at the same time developing her own film making projects.
She tells Moviehole.net, "(I will) read material, be a little bit more picky with what I do next, try to spend less time on a movie set and more time creating and developing things.
"I bought the rights of a book last year and I’m a very persistent person so I feel like I can put a lot of my energy into that and not spend the whole year on a movie set, maybe shoot a little less and use more of my time for other things."

Acclaimed lyricist BERNIE TAUPIN is thankful he never became famous for being the musical partner of SIR ELTON JOHN - because he can’t handle the celebrity world.
The songwriter worked with Sir Elton for 40 years, helping to make the British musician a superstar - but he insists he isn’t jealous of the attention Sir Elton enjoys.

She says, "We have to stay in pretty good form you know. We can’t get drunk before a show and really keep it together and perform at the level people are used to seeing us perform at.
"So we save it until after the show. Most of the time."

Singer MACY GRAY was so determined to play a brothel hostess in new OUTKAST movie IDLEWILD, director BRYAN BARBER was afraid of turning her down.
The I TRY star made it clear she wanted the part of ghetto madam TAFFY in the all-black period drama.
And Barber admits he was so impressed by her direct approach he cast her in the role.
He recalls, "I’ve known Macy for a while and I told her about the movie and she said, ‘You’d better not give my part away!’ "Macy has this edgy charm that’s like some madam from that era. She’s a woman you don’t want rub the wrong way, cos she’s likely to pull a switchblade out and cut off your pinkie!"

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS rocker CARL BARAT is urging music fans throughout the UK to join the fight against racism and bigotry.
The former LIBERTINES star is involved in the LoveMusicHateRacism campaign, which organises positive events and activities to bring people together against right-wing organisations including the British National Party (BNP).
The band are on the line-up for the initiative’s upcoming London concert in Barking, east of the capital, at the end of the month (SEP06).
Barat says, "For evil to triumph, all that is necessary is that good people do nothing. Apathy is a killer and it’s easy to be complacent. We’re dedicated to this in the same way we’re dedicated to melody and bringing people together through music."

Singer LETOYA LUCKETT was devastated after leaving R&B group DESTINY’S CHILD because she felt abandoned by her former bandmates.
Luckett, whose sole album LETOYA debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 this summer (12AUG06), grew up with Destiny’s Child stars BEYONCE KNOWLES and KELLY ROWLAND.
But she was left shocked when she and ex-group member LATAVIA ROBERTSON were kicked out of the group without being formally told about it.
Luckett says, "None of the girls called up after I left the group. What I missed most was the friendship Beyonce, Kelly and I had. We had met in elementary school so the hardest things were getting over birthday’s and Christmases without them.
"I did call Beyonce on the New Years Eve of the new millennium. I told her I missed her, I loved her and that it was a hard time. She called me three days later and told me things were over with the group and they were all going solo.
"But then there was another Destiny’s Child album after that so I don’t know what happened."

Pregnant former British pop star KERRY KATONA has been rushed to hospital after a miscarriage scare.
The 25-year-old, who is expecting a baby with fiance MARK CROFT, was taken to Warrington Hospital in Northern England on Thursday morning (14SEP06) after she started bleeding.
Katona, ex-wife of singer BRIAN McFADDEN, already has two children with the ex-boy band member - and there are fears that her scare was caused by continuous stress relating to her public spat with the former WESTLIFE hunk McFadden has claimed she was unfaithful to him during their stormy marriage.
A spokesperson says, "She was admitted with light spotting. It wasn’t anything serious. She was only there for a few hours and she returned home." A source adds, "Kerry’s had a really bad time of late with all the mud-slinging going on between her and Brian.
"Accusing her of being a bad mum was a low blow and he followed up that with claims that she cheated on him during the marriage.
"The only thing that has been keeping her mind of all the this is the baby she’s absolutely ecstatic to be expecting a child with Mark."

SIR ELTON JOHN has declared his feud with pop star GEORGE MICHAEL is over, after the troubled pop star forgave him for discussing his recent traumas with the press.
The two musicians fell out after Sir Elton referred to Michael’s "deep-rooted unhappiness" and his need for professional help, after the CARELESS WHISPER was caught in July (06) enjoying a late night encounter with a male stranger at Hampstead Heath, near his north London home.
Michael reacted furiously to the comments, and insisted his friendship with John was over.
Michael said at the time, "Elton John knows nothing about George Michael. We have spoken rarely in the past 10 years and what would probably surprise most people is that we have never discussed my private life. Ever." But the ROCKET MAN star has since revealed they have resolved their differences.
He insists, "George and I are fine. He came and stayed down my house last year." "George is great. I haven’t seen him since Hampstead Heath."
