Actor CHARLIE SHANIAN admits he was taken aback when his request to wed the former BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 star was met with stunned silence and then harsh criticism.
Making his first TV appearance since he and Spelling divorced after a year of marriage last year (05), Shanian told TV life coach DR KEITH ABLOW, "They said how selfish she was, how she needed therapy really badly." Shanian, who is psychiatrist and author Ablow’s first big guest as he launches a new TV talk show this week (beg11SEP06), adds, "They proceeded for the next 25 minutes to tell me what a horrible daughter they had." Shanian even reveals how he learned his brief marriage was over - from his wife’s therapist.
