BUSH ASSASSINATION FILM GETS A US DEAL
The controversial film depicting a fictional attempt on US President GEORGE W BUSH’s life has won a distributor after leaving movie fans at the Toronto Film Festival stunned.
DEATH OF A PRESIDENT has been heavily criticised for its harrowing images of a fake assassination attempt on Bush, but the controversy hasn’t deterred film bosses from buying up the distribution rights.
Just a day after the film became the talk of the annual Canadian festival, director/producer GABRIEL RANGE sold US distribution rights to Newmarket Films.
The film company executives are no strangers to controversy - they also distributed MEL GIBSON’s THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.
