DAME HELEN MIRREN has criticised the television industry for being overly male-dominated.
The PRIME SUSPECT star believes there is a desperate need for female empowerment and women should be taking on stronger onscreen roles.
Mirren says, "I’m disappointed that the television landscape hasn’t changed more for women during the years that Prime Suspect has been around.
"I still think there is room for more female-led dramas on television. It’s still a bit blokeish as far as I am concerned."
