Hip-hop singer FERGIE insists her early success as a child actress pushed her towards drugs later in life, because she began suppressing her feelings at a young age.
THE BLACK EYED PEAS vocalist, who is enjoying a successful solo side-career, became addicted to crystal meth following the failure of her all-girl R&B group WILD ORCHID in 2001.
And Fergie only truly overcome her drug demons after finding success in the WHERE IS THE LOVE group, because she can now let all off her pent up emotions out during live performances.
She says, "A lot of it was being a child actor; I learned to suppress feelings.
"(Now) I have an hour and a half of performing every night and improvising.
If there’s a rafter, I can climb right on."
