BRAND: ‘STEWART JIBE WAS JOKE’
British TV host RUSSELL BRAND has slammed reports that he and ROD STEWART have fallen out over comments he made about the rocker’s daughter at an awards ceremony.
The lewd lothario referenced making a pass at Stewart’s daughter when picking up an award at the GQ Man Of The Year Awards in London on Tuesday (05SEP06).
But Stewart reprimanded Brand moments later when collecting an award of his own, saying, "You mustn’t come up here and boast. I speak here as a father." According to Brand the whole spat has been overblown.
He says, "That thing with Rod was made to look like a feud and it annoyed me.
I said what I said as a joke. He responded as a joke."
