BRAND COLLEAGUE CHARGED OVER ‘DRUG RAPE’ INCIDENT
LATEST: A friend and colleague of British TV comedian RUSSELL BRAND has been charged in connection with an alleged rape of a female guest at an Edinburgh Festival party last month (AUG06).
TREVOR LOCK, 33, and Brand, 31, were questioned by police last week (ends08SEP06) after a 20-year-old student reported she had been drugged and raped at the bash, held at Brand’s temporary Edinburgh residence to celebrate the end of his run of comedy gigs in the Scottish capital.
Two days after being questioned, Lock - who co-presents Brand’s BBC6 radio show - was arrested and charged.
Brand will possibly be called as a witness in the case.
A police spokesman says, "A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an incident in a flat in North Castle Street, Edinburgh on 28 August."
