Pop queen MADONNA is living in fear after allegedly receiving death threats from the Russian mafia. The HOLIDAY star, currently touring Europe, is so terrified that she refuses to leave her hotel room unless she has to go to a performance.
And all plans for sightseeing and shopping were cancelled after a Czech newspaper reported that crime bosses threatened to kill her and her two children.
A source says, "She is unbelievably nervous and worried about performing in Moscow next week. Because of that she wants to get home as soon as possible and doesn’t want to be away a minute more than is necessary."

British funnyman RICKY GERVAIS has furiously denied employing A-list stars on hit show EXTRAS solely to improve ratings.
Although the comedian admits Hollywood actors like SAMUEL L JACKSON and BEN STILLER pull in huge audiences, he insists their personalities are more important than the power they wield.
He says, "It was never about the names.
"They have to have something to deconstruct, whether they’re a global superstar or not, something to play with.

The EDUCATING RITA star spent her summer engrossed in the antics of the UK house but fears she’d get bored too easily to spend three months confined there herself.
Walters says, "I’d go mad, I’d go insane.
"I can’t imagine what it would be like without distractions - no books, no telly.

A home video clip of the latest HARRY POTTER film has been removed from the internet after film-makers begged websites to ban it.
Thousands have already seen the grainy footage taken from a footbridge at London’s King’s Cross train station of stars DANIEL RADCLIFFE, RUPERT GRINT and EMMA WATSON boarding the Hogwarts Express train.
But Warner Brothers representatives have requested the video be removed from websites so new film HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX isn’t spoiled for fans of JK ROWLING’s bestsellers.

Actor STEPHEN DORFF has been branded a sex pest by his new co star JAIME MURRAY, because he wouldn’t leave her alone.
Hollywood newcomer Murray says her 13 co-star, who has been linked with PAMELA ANDERSON and JULIETTE LEWIS, couldn’t keep his hands off her - but his attentive touch did not have the desired effect.
She says, "He’s an out of control sex pest. He wouldn’t stop hassling me. He kept stroking my neck and hair, and finding excuses to touch me. God help any girl who’s with him - he can’t keep it in his trousers.
"Once you spend time with him, he becomes less attractive. I’m just thankful we didn’t have to have any sex in the film."

Actress SAMANTHA MORTON was kicked out of SIR ELTON JOHN’s mansion, after smashing one of his prized possessions at a dinner party. The Alberto Giacometti sculpture, worth tens of thousands of pounds, was destroyed during a dinner party at the bespectacled superstar’s lavish pad in London’s Holland Park.
The party was to celebrate the launch of London’s new Versace store and was hosted by style icon ELIZABETH HURLEY and Elton’s partner DAVID FURNISH.
Elton was away in New York at the time but is believed to be distraught at the loss of the prized statue. A partygoer tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Judging by David’s appalled reaction the statue was obviously worth a lot of money. He seemed very flustered and worried.
"He was hosting the party without Elton and the last thing he needed was for something like this to happen." Furnish’s spokesperson says, "A smashed sculpture won’t overshadow what was a fantastic evening, raising money for a breast cancer charity."

DOCTOR WHO star DAVID TENNANT has signed a $1.8 million (£1 million) contract to shoot a third series of the sci-fi show - but he will quit for Hollywood after it has finished.
Tennant took on the role after CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON left after just one series - and the HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE star helped make the TV show a ratings winner.
Tennant has committed to another season, but is not expected to stay with the show after a flood of movie offers from Hollywood. A insider says, "David absolutely loves the programme but if it comes back for a fifth season bosses will have to find a new Doctor Who."

ALI G star SACHA BARON COHEN was booed by audiences at the Toronto Film Festival on Thursday night (08SEP06) after a film projector broke 30 minutes into his new film BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN.
British funnyman Cohen attempted to calm the crowd by going onstage as his character Borat, saying, "If you don’t give these people money back, I crush you!" But the audience were furious after the screening was cancelled following an hour of waiting for the projector to be fixed and continued to boo the star.
One audience member said, "It was complete madness."

Stolen tapes of new British TV show ROBIN HOOD have been recovered by Hungarian police.
The tapes were taken while the £8 million ($14 million) series was being filmed on location in the town of Fot, near Budapest, prompting desperate appeals for the tapes to be returned. Two people were reported to have been arrested on Friday (08SEP06).
A spokesperson for producers Tiger Aspect says, "The Hungarian police have recovered the property stolen from the Robin Hood production site in Budapest.
"Obviously investigations are not complete and therefore we do not wish to make any further comment about an ongoing Hungarian enquiry." The 13-part drama series, which has been filmed in high definition, is set to be screened from next month (NOV06), and on BBC America, who part-financed it, next year (07).
A BBC spokeswoman said, "We understand that the majority of the material has been recovered."

Hollywood star ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has apologised after calling a Latina lawmaker "very hot".
The California Governor said of Republican BONNIE GARCIA, "black blood" mixed with "Latino blood" equals "hot".
Schwarzenegger has apologised, saying, "Anyone out there that feels offended by these comments, I just want to say I’m sorry. The fact is that if I would hear this kind of comments in my house, by my kids, I would be upset, and today, when I read it in the papers … It made me cringe." Garcia, whose parents are from Puerto Rico, insists there was no need for Schwarzenegger to apologise, saying she referred to herself as a "hot-blooded Latina" all the time.
But state Treasurer PHIL ANGELIDES said the governor "used language that is deeply offensive to all Californians".
Democrat assemblyman MERVYN DYMALLY, who chairs the state Legislative Black Caucus, said the Governor’s comments were "usual political banter. We do this all the time."

British TV presenter ZOE BALL is considering Invitro Fertilisation (IVF) in her desperate bid to have another baby with superstar DJ NORMAN COOK.
The couple have been trying for a brother or sister for five-year-old son WOODY, but their lack of success is starting to worry the couple - and if they find they are unable to conceive they will consider IVF.
Ball, who married the DJ - also known as FATBOY SLIM - in 1999, says, "We’ve been trying for another baby, but it’s just not happening. At the moment we’re playing the game of ‘let’s pretend we don’t want one’ in the hope we’ll suddenly surprise ourselves by getting pregnant. But we’ve just not been lucky yet - and it’s not through lack of trying.
"We haven’t got that far down the line yet (IVF). I’m only 35 so we still have a few more years. We’re still hoping we will be able to have another baby naturally."

SIMON COWELL is fuming after discovering a wannabe boy band on his British talent show X FACTOR already have a management deal in place.
AVENUE, who have made it through to the second stage, failed to declare they had a management deal after being put together by pop mogul ASHLEY TABOR.
The discovery has left Cowell and fellow judges SHARON OSBOURNE and LOUIS WALSH seething.
A spokesperson for the show says, "They only found out about this in the past few days and they are livid.
"Ashley and the boys have hoodwinked the judges, the production company, everybody. Ashley admitted he had a management deal with Avenue and we are investigating. We will take whatever action is necessary. "This goes against the whole nature of the show."

Critics have mauled Italian tenor ANDREA BOCELLI’s performances in New York city last week, calling them “careless” and “unconvincing”.
Blind Bocelli, who has sold out his concert dates in New York, is slated as a singer who is still living off his fame without having any real vocal talent.
New York Times critic BERNARD HOLLAND says, “Bocelli is not a very good singer. The tone is rasping, thin and in general, poorly supported. Even the most modest upward movement thins it even more, signalling what appears to be the onset of strangulation.
“To his credit, Mr Bocelli sings mostly in tune. But his phrasing tends towards carelessness and rhythmic jumble, and the little barks and husky vocal expletives that are the mother’s milk of Italian tenordom sound faded and unconvincing. The diction is not clear.” A review from the Associated Press (AP) also slates Bocelli, proclaiming, “Passion? Yes. Power? No.”

Rap superstar SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has been forced to give up the ‘Diddy’ part of his name after being sued by a UK music producer also called Diddy.
Combs, who has changed his name from PUFF DADDY to P DIDDY to simply DIDDY, will be forced to pay substantial damages to RICHARD ‘DIDDY’ DEARLOVE.
And the hip hop mogul is banned from using the name Diddy in the UK, following the High Court settlement. Dearlove made a name for himself with his remixes of classic songs, such as ATOMIC by BLONDIE.

BRAD PITT insists he won’t marry girlfriend ANGELINA JOLIE until the restrictions on who is allowed to marry is the US are dropped.

He adds, "I try not to stifle them in any way. If it’s not hurting anyone, I want them to be able to explore. "Sometimes that means they’re quite rambunctious!"
