No goat road
A Swiss driver caught speeding said he was taking advantage of a goat-free road.
The man was travelling at 100mph on a road in Ontario, Canada when police stopped him. He said he was taking advantage of the road being clear of animals.
The traffic officer’s notes said: "A motorist from Switzerland, used to driving around hills and mountains, takes advantage of the ability to go faster without risking hitting a goat." Police said this was the first time they had ever heard such an excuse.
Police spokesman Joel Doiron said: "I’ve never been to Switzerland but obviously they must have a problem with goats there." The driver was fined $330.
