LATEST: Reigning Miss America JENNIFER BERRY, who is the national spokesperson for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), has slammed PARIS HILTON for driving while intoxicated and insists the socialite needs to take responsibility for her actions. Hilton was arrested Thursday (07SEPT06) after Los Angeles police pulled her over for driving erratically and found she was legally over the limit.
Berry says, "We’re always very disappointed when we hear about any alcohol related DUI’s. We’re very thankful no one was injured or killed.
"However, I’m very disappointed, because even at .08, her judgment was impaired.
"Her inhibitions were impaired and she needed to take responsibility for the fact she had consumed that much alcohol." Hilton has come under fire from safety groups who insist she is setting the wrong example for young drivers after being caught behind the wheel while intoxicated.
