SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN IS TOP MOVIE MUSICAL
SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN has topped the American Film Institute’s list of the 25 Greatest Movie Musicals.
The feelgood 1952 GENE KELLY classic beat off competition from NATALIE WOOD weepie WEST SIDE STORY and JUDY GARLAND favourite THE WIZARD OF OZ.
The top five movie musicals are as follows:
1. SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (1952)
2. WEST SIDE STORY (1961)
3. THE WIZARD OF OZ (1932)
4. THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965)
5. CABARET (1972).
