Australian actress RADHA MITCHELL suffered from terrifying nightmares while filming horror movie SILENT HILL, because she was surrounded by demonic beasts everyday.
The 32-year-old became so immersed in the scary story of a mother hunting for her daughter in a creepy town, she couldn’t relax when she returned to her hotel.
She says, “I was on set for every minute of the shoot pretty much. It was relentless like that.
“It did seep a bit into my nightmares. I’d go home at the end of the day and I’d be dreaming about Silent Hill.
“The movie is a free fall into unconsciousness. You just go deeper and deeper into this irrational, insane kind of hell.”

BLUR bassist ALEX JAMES has written a tribute to CATHERINE ZETA-JONES in British magazine Glamour, praising the actress’ rise from Welsh valley girl to Oscar-winning Hollywood star.
The BEETLEBUM hitmaker has watched Zeta-Jones’ transformation from her humble beginnings on British TV series THE DARLING BUDS OF MAY in the early 1990s to her current Hollywood lifestyle, acting in a slew of films and wife to acting legend MICHAEL DOUGLAS.
James says, "Catherine has never been a fanfared, great white British hope like KATE WINSLET. One minute she was in some nasty ITV drama, the next she was Hollywood box office and wife supreme.
"That girl next door ‘it could have been you’ quality is the basis of her triumphs. But it’s also the prime cause of all the jealously and resentment that comes her way. Which kind of makes her an old-fashioned heroine in real-life.
"There’s some earthy about her beauty as well, suggesting a certain attainability. She’s not inscrutable or other-worldly the way many screen stars are."

American novelist JAMES ELLROY is delighted with BRIAN DE PALMA’s big screen adaptation of his best-selling novel THE BLACK DAHLIA.
Ellroy, whose books LA CONFIDENTIAL and WONDER BOYS have also been turned into movies, is amazed the SCARFACE film-maker was able to turn such a long novel into a perfectly abridged film - without losing any of its substance.
He says, "It’s a brilliantly conceived and executed abridgment of what is a very long novel. In its form it is very beautiful, more so than I could have imagined.
"When the producer told me that Brian de Palma had been signed up, I was over the moon." The Black Dahlia, which stars real-life lovers SCARLETT JOHANSSON and JOSH HARTNETT, follows two detectives investigating the murder of a 1940s actress.

British actor/writer RICKY GERVAIS wants to move away from the comedy world to focus on more large-scale TV drama shows.
The funnyman made his name with British comedies THE OFFICE and EXTRAS - but now he wants to be involved in larger, American-style programmes.
Gervais says, "I wouldn’t necessarily film it in Britain. I’d want it to be like 24 or THE SOPRANOS. I wonder why we’ve never done anything like those shows in this country. Maybe it’s something to do with the climate or our accents or something.
"But I’d want to try to do a big, brilliantly made drama. And I wouldn’t necessarily be in it."

Two French rappers could face legal action after it was revealed they used money from a council grant to finance a music video accused of glorifying violence against police officers.
TIPIKAL and K-PSTER’s track COLT 44 features gun and drug imagery and scenes shot during a violent clash between police and rioters in Nantes last year (05).
The song’s lyrics include, "Fill the police HQ with mustard gas, do it Russian-style." Nantes mayor JEAN-MARC AYRAULT revealed on Friday (01SEP06) that Tipikal and K-Pster had been the beneficiaries of a 700 euro ($900/£500) subsidy to produce a video dealing with "the malaise in the suburbs", following the riots which wreaked havoc across France.
French police union Alliance says the video is "an incitement to urban warfare, to hatred of the police, to terrorism and rape".
Nantes’ state-appointed governor has requested local judicial authorities to determine if legal action can be brought against the two men.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE feared his career was ruined when Rolling Stone magazine crowned him the King Of Pop, because he had worked hard to get away from the genre.
The music bible gave former ‘N SYNC bandmember Timberlake the title in 2003 after the success of his debut solo album JUSTIFIED, but he was horrified.
Timberlake explains, "That Rolling Stone coverline bothered me so bad. When I saw it I was like, ‘My God, my career is over.’ "I felt it meant I still wasn’t being taken seriously, that I was being stereotyped just like I had before. They end of year Best Of… lists didn’t help, either. Pop Album of the Year here. Pop Album of the Year there.

R&B superstar BEYONCE KNOWLES has hit out at reports she fired her manager father MATHEW KNOWLES.
The CRAZY IN LOVE star has revealed she recorded new album B’DAY in secret from Mathew - because she knew he would interfere in her creative process.
But she insists he is still looking after interests.
Beyonce says, “My dad was never fired. But it took him a while to realise I was getting older. It was when I turned 19, and started saying ‘no’ to things.
It took him a second to adjust but if we hadn’t gone through that phase, then something would be wrong.
“Because I’m so passionate and he’s so passionate… people think that he tells me and I do it but I’m a grown woman and he respects that. He has his own opinions and when we disagree we disagree and we go at it.
“But we always agree eventually. It just took time to figure out how to get the balance between father and daughter, manager and artist.”

The legendary filmmaker says the movie - which depicts events following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York’s World Trade Centre - should not be perceived as political propaganda, but as an account of human emotions.
He told Britain’s Live magazine: “This film was not about politics.
“I wanted to keep it as a simple human story of survival and, mostly, about the power of love and family.” The film - which stars Nicolas Cage - follows the lives of two policemen who were the last survivors pulled from the rubble.
Stone added: “This was about two ordinary guys who went to work one day and found themselves in an extraordinary situation that not only changed their lives but changed our world.”

Jade, the daughter of Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger, has held the position for four years, but reports claim her contract will not be renewed as she has requested perks "even her father wouldn’t demand." A source told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper: "It looks like Jade’s £1.3 million a year contract won’t be renewed. They’ve had a great working relationship but some of Jade’s requests have taken their toll. She wants first class air travel, assistants and a driver and Garrard feels it’s a bit much." Jade, 34, who has also designed and made her own jewellery, was invited to join Garrard in 2002 to revamp the company’s image.
A spokesman for the jeweller said: "We are in discussions to renew her contract which expired in June." Garrard has also denied rumours that jeweller-to-the-stars Stephen Webster is to take over Jade’s role in the company.

The actor - who has sparked early Oscar buzz with his portrayal of tragic ‘Superman’ actor George Reeves in his new movie ‘Hollywoodland’ - says the intense interest in stars’ personal lives is blurring the line between fantasy and reality, making films less believable.
At a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, he fumed: "I think more and more people pay attention to actors’ private lives and that makes it difficult to suspend disbelief when you are going to watch their movie.
"That’s because really what you are thinking about is whatever you have read about them in a magazine rather than the performance they are giving, and it makes the actor’s job harder." He added: "The movies become incidental pit-stops and commercial breaks in the soap opera of actors’ lives." Meanwhile, another attendee at the Italian festival, Ethan Hawke thinks people’s fascination with celebrities isn’t a bad thing.
Hawke - who is promoting his new movie, ‘The Hottest State’, which is based on his own cult novel - said: "If the paparazzi are bothering you, it probably means you are having a pretty wonderful life."
