The brother of the late DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES has reportedly walked out on his second wife after five years of marriage.
EARL SPENCER and wife CAROLINE wed in December 2001 but their relationship has been rocked by rumours in May (06) that Spencer tried to seduce his best pal’s wife.
The couple have two children together.

British funnyman RICKY GERVAIS has hit back at complaints his sketches poking fun at disabled people are in poor taste.
THE OFFICE star concedes his writing is sometimes "uncomfortable" but insists a scene in the new series of EXTRAS - depicting someone mistaking a girl with cerebral palsy for a drunk - is challenging humour.
He says, "That wasn’t an easy laugh at all. That was a very uncomfortable laugh. I mean, that could’ve been taken wrongly.
"What it was saying was, ‘Wouldn’t it be awful if you mistook someone who had a terminal illness for someone who was drunk.’ Everything we’ve ever done is ‘right on’. We expose pretension and ignorance."

Veteran actress DAME HELEN MIRREN was bowled over by her reception at the Venice Film Festival yesterday (02SEP06) when she stumbled at a photocall for new movie THE QUEEN.
The 61-year-old star was honoured with a five-minute ovation from critics for her portrayal of British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II in the days following the death of DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES, in 1997.
However, the unexpected accolade clearly overwhelmed the actress as she tripped up at a photocall for the movie, joking she’d fallen, "A**e over tit".
Still visibly shaken at the premiere later, Mirren dropped her sparkly clutch purse on the red carpet.

Chinese officials have confirmed plans to create a theme park inspired by martial arts legend BRUCE LEE which will feature a rollercoaster emitting the star’s famous screeches.
Lee shot to fame as a Kung Fu hero in a string of hit action movies including ENTER THE DRAGON, but died tragically in 1973, aged just 32. His howls and screams as he fought waves of on-screen enemies became a trademark.
However, the actor’s only surviving child, SHANNON LEE, who controls her father’s legacy, is threatening to halt the plans. She vows to visit the proposed site "to find out what else they are dreaming up over there".
The $18 million (£10 million) park will also feature gardens and remote-controlled mannequin robots operated from within a giant statue of the actor.

Oscar-winning US film-maker OLIVER STONE has issued a chilling threat to kill terror chief OSAMA BIN LADEN "with my own hands".
The WORLD TRADE CENTER director, whose film is based on Bin Laden’s 9/11 attacks, insists tolerance should not extend to those who slaughter for political gain.
The 59-year-old Vietnam veteran says, "I’m not a pacifist. If I could I would kill bin Laden and his group myself, with my own hands.
"We have to develop a spirit of tolerance amongst ourselves, but not towards those who kill people indiscriminately."

Disgraced Hollywood star MEL GIBSON has finally said sorry to the three police officers he insulted when arrested for drink-driving two months ago (JUL06).
The PASSION OF THE CHRIST actor sent a female officer a $500 (£277) bouquet with a note expressing "sincere apologies" and has invited her and her male colleague, JAMES MEE, to the premiere of his new movie APOCALYPTO.
Gibson launched a blistering volley of abuse against the woman when escorted to his cell, calling her "sugartits", and subjected Mee, who is Jewish, to an anti-Semitic tirade when pulled over in his vehicle.
A colleague of the unnamed female officer says, "Mel has sent her the biggest bunch of flowers she’s ever seen with a note. She was quite touched and I’m sure that the two arresting officers will take him up on his invitation."

PAUL BURRELL has passed excerpts of his candid memoir over to British police in an attempt to stop speculation Diana was murdered because she was set to marry a Muslim.
The princess’ former confidant claims the ring found on her hand was a present from Al Fayed but there was never any talk of marriage.
Burrell writes, "She made it clear this was not an engagement ring and that she agreed to wear it on her right hand as a friendship ring." The revelations are made in Burrell’s new book, DIANA: THE WAY WE WERE.

KIM BASINGER is being hauled back into court to face possible charges of contempt for allegedly violating ex-husband ALEC BALDWIN’s visitation rights.
The actress is accused by Baldwin of withholding vital information about their daughter, IRELAND, including periods she could have stayed with her dad while Basinger was working out of town.
He also claims on one occasion Basinger refused to tell him that their daughter was injured and required medical attention.
On Friday (01SEP06) Los Angeles Superior Court Judge ROBERT A SCHNIDER ordered the Academy Award-winning actress to appear in court next month (04OCT06) to defend herself.
Basinger’s attorney NEAL HERSH says, "This is nothing more than harassment.
Theses allegations are specious and Kim looks forward to her vindication." The couple split in 2002 and have been locked in a bitter custody dispute ever since.

US chat show host ELLEN DeGENERES narrowly escaped serious injury in a three-car pile-up in Los Angeles yesterday (02SEP06).
The Emmy-winning star escaped with just aches and pains when a female driver crashed into the back of a car which then collided with DeGeneres’ Porsche while she was waiting at traffic lights on Sunset Boulevard.
SERGEANT KEN BUSCARINO of the LA police says, "Ms DeGeneres had a little neck and back pain, but it doesn’t look like anything serious." A 52-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

London indie band LES INCOMPETENTS have split, complaining the band is too big to manage.
The six-piece confirmed rumours they were to disband on an internet blog, despite the fact lead singer BILLY LEESON is nearly recovered following a violent street attack in London earlier this year (JUN06).
Writing on their Myspace.com page, the band says: "The rumours are true…
the six of us are no longer going to be playing together. Les Incompetents as Les Incompetents will cease to exist.
"By the end of the tour we just realised that there were too many ideas between the six of us to try and hone in to one thing. Meaning that whatever we ended up producing, certain people would be unhappy." The band adds several members are already preparing to form new groups.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and his estranged wife HEATHER MILLS have spent 40 minutes alone together in a desperate attempt to end their bitter divorce battle amicably.
The former BEATLE reportedly invited Mills into his US holiday home in East Hampton on Wednesday (30AUG06) after she picked up their three-year-old daughter BEATRICE.
Shocked security guards were asked to leave the scene while the pair tried to resolve their differences.
A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, "Paul and Heather have been doing their best to avoid each other for months. But they have decided to put their differences aside for the sake of their daughter."

Former SPICE GIRL GERI HALLIWELL has begged police to investigate bruises found on her three-month-old daughter after being briefly placed in the hands of a carer.
The flame-haired singer gave birth to BLUEBELL in May (06) and claims her tot was "bruised and bawling" after being babysat by a golf course employee last month (AUG06).
Halliwell had gone for a walk at the Hampshire, England, club, entrusting Bluebell to a temporary member of staff there.
Now police will decide whether the child’s welfare was jeopardised in the singer’s absence.
A police spokesman confirms, "We are investigating an allegation of physical abuse of a three-month-old baby.
"Inquiries continue but there have been no arrests."

PARIS HILTON’s debut pop effort has been sabotaged in the UK by a guerrilla graffiti artist.
BANKSY, who has become notorious for his painted pranks, smuggled 500 doctored copies of the hotel heiress’ first album into music stores around Britain.
The CDs see Hilton’s sugary pop overwritten by Banksy’s own beats, while the album artwork has been altered so that Hilton’s face is replaced by her dog and the track listing reads as a series of inane questions, including, “Why am I famous?” On the album cover Banksy’s digital wizardry has repositioned Hilton’s dress to expose her breasts.
The street artist’s musical composition features THE SIMPLE LIFE star’s catchphrase “That’s hot!” dubbed over 40 minutes of a basic rhythm track.
Banksy’s bogus CD marks the latest in a long line of high-profile stunts including illegally exhibiting his own work at the prestigious Tate Britain gallery in 2003 and painting part of Israel’s security wall around the West Bank last year (05).

STATUS QUO guitarist RICK PARFITT has married for the third time at a secret ceremony in Gibraltar on Friday (01SEP06).
The rocker, 57, tied the knot with LYNDSAY WHITBURN, 46, at a registry office.
The pair met just months ago at an exclusive fitness club and Parfitt quickly dumped longterm love and former wife PATTY BEEDON for her.
Parfitt, who has paid out more than $5.4 million (£3 million) in divorce settlements, recently vowed he’d never marry again.
However, a friend tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, "This woman just came into Rick’s life and he fell for her very, very hard. It’s been a whirlwind."
