London lingo

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:31 pm

Visitors to London will be taught rap-style slang words to help them understand local teenagers.
Mayor Ken Livingstone is arranging free crash courses to be held at Trafalgar Square, after researchers found Londoners are swapping Cockney rhyming slang for a new dialect dubbed ‘Jafaican’.
The new slang mixes English, Jamaican, Indian and West Indian and uses words such as "creps" for shoes and "yard" for home.
Five languages are on offer during the three-minute course - including sign language, cockney and teen slang.
A Visit London spokesman explained: "It’s a celebration of our diversity."
