COMPOSER GIL QUITS MUSIC
Brazilian composer GILBERTO GIL is considering turning his back on music because he wants to let silence into his life.
The 64-year-old, who wants to continue in his role as Brazil’s Minister Of Culture, is a multi-Grammy Award winner and is best known for fusing Brazilian samba music with Western genres.
But he feels he has accomplished everything in music that he wants to, and is ready to simply enjoy growing old.
He says, "In music, I feel my mission has been accomplished. want to get out of this chain.
"I’m in a phase of admitting silence into my life. I want to get old."
