LATEST: JESSICA SIMPSON’S father is thrilled with her new relationship with Grammy winner JOHN MAYER and insists her new beau is "an unbelievable talent".
The pop singer is currently in New York City promoting her new album A PUBLIC AFFAIR and has been sidelined by laryngitis and a broken blood vessel on her vocal cord.
JOE SIMPSON, who known to have been against Jessica’s marriage to ex-husband NICK LACHEY, has given his enthusiastic approval to her new relationship saying, "I love John. I love John’s music. I love him as a person. I think he has a kind heart and he’s an unbelievable talent." Simpson insists he has received a bad rap when it comes to his role in his daughter’s life adding, "You know, although everyone says I’m the bad guy, I stay out of her romance.
"I don’t have anything to do with her romance nor ASHLEE’s! You know, all I wish for her is to be happy.
"It’s been a sad year, she’s been through some tough, tough times, and as a father, I wish joy for her, whatever brings her joy and happiness, that’s what I wish for her."
