Hollywood actor GREG KINNEAR is considering a new career as a film director after doing a spectacular job filming the birth of his second child.
The AS GOOD AS IT GETS star became a father for the second time last month (JUN06) after wife HELEN gave birth to baby girl AUDREY MAE.
And filming the childbirth has given Kinnear a taste for directing.
Kinnear says, "You look at the home video of the first birth and it’s blurry, abstract shots; half the time the camera is pointing at the ceiling because I’ve passed out. It’s chaos.
"Then the second one comes along and it’s nice swooping pan shots, a little narration. You’re not afraid to ask the doctor to back up and try it one more time."

Hollywood star TOM CRUISE has been voted the world’s most sexist celebrity, for his conduct with fiancee KATIE HOLMES.
The BATMAN BEGINS has put her career on hold since she started dating Cruise last year (05) and is currently raising their baby SURI at home.
And Cruise’s ex-wife NICOLE KIDMAN admitted after their divorce she placed her career in second place to supporting his films and caring for the couple’s adopted children CONNOR and ISABELLA.
At the Ernie Awards - which honours the worst derogatory public statements in Sydney, Australia on Thursday (24AUG06), Cruise was named the most sexist.
The award organisers cited one of Cruise’s comments from earlier this year (06), before the actress gave birth to Suri; "I’ve got Katie tucked away so no one will get to us until my child is born."

Hollywood actor DANIEL CRAIG is unimpressed with a new JAMES BOND toy doll, claiming his likeness is too moody.
The blonde actor has been recreated as an action figure, which is set to be released with new Bond film CASINO ROYALE.
And Craig is not satisfied with the expression on the action figure’s face.
He says, "He scowls a lot. He may need to soften up a little bit." And Craig is determined to change the video game version of himself if it doesn’t look like him.
Craig says, "I have a clear input in all this as I know there are some things that are wrong."

Actress DAME HELEN MIRREN has penned an article for British newspaper The Times highlighting the dire situation in Uganda.
The veteran star visited Northern Uganda in December 2004 with charity Oxfam, and was heavily affected by the sad scenes she saw there.
Mirren was especially concerned about the 25,000 children kidnapped and forced to fight in the internal conflict.
Mirren says, "When I was there, I went to one of those centres and met a young man called John, who had recently arrived. I remember watching him sit under a mango tree playing an instrument. It’s melancholic sound was mesmerising. It seemed that now only music could obliterate memories of the atrocities he had committed."

Hollywood producer JERRY BRUCKHEIMER insists TOM CRUISE is still one of the biggest stars in the world, despite the end of his partnership with Paramount Pictures.
The chairman of Viacom - Paramount’s parent company - SUMNER REDSTONE announced on Wednesday (23AUG06) the studios would not be renewing Cruise’s 14-year production deal due to his "recent conduct" over the past year.
Cruise received a barrage of negative publicity last year (05) due to his public displays of affection with fiancee KATIE HOLMES, his promotion of his controversial religion Scientology and his verbal bashing of the actress BROOKE SHIELDS for her "misguided" use of prescription drugs to treat her post-partum depression.
Despite Cruise’s diminished popularity amongst film fans and Paramount bosses, TOP GUN producer Bruckheimer tells the New York Daily News, "Mr Redstone has the right to say what he wants. It’s not what I would do.
"Tom is one of the biggest stars in the world, and that hasn’t changed."

Veteran actor SIR SEAN CONNERY launched a scathing verbal attack on the film industry yesterday (25AUG06), accusing it of ruining his latest film THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN.
The former JAMES BOND star was in his home town of Edinburgh, Scotland, where he was presented with a BAFTA Scotland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film.
And Connery, who was celebrating his 76th birthday, announced the end of his 50-year Hollywood career with a furious tirade against an industry he accused of incompetence and unprofessionalism.
Connery said, "The time has come because of my rather unfortunate last movie.
The cost to me in terms of frustration and avoiding going to jail for murder cannot have continued." Connery went on to describe the director of The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen STEPHEN NORRINGTON as being "insane".
He said, "He was young and enthusiastic. I presumed someone wouldn’t give a person $84 million to go to a wonderful city like Prague without due diligence."

California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has settled a libel lawsuit with British TV presenter ANNA RICHARDSON, who claimed the Austrian actor groped her in December 2000.
Richardson filed suit in London against the TERMINATOR star, his spokesman SEAN WALSH and publicist SHERYL MAIN, claiming they tarnished her reputation as an interviewer when they dismissed her allegations that the actor touched her breasts during a press conference in London’s Dorchester Hotel.
Both Richardson and Schwarzenegger and his aides have settled the suit to their satisfaction, but have not released further information.
Main says, "Yes, it is true that it has been settled. I don’t have any comment but it’s settled and I think we’re all very happy to put that behind us."

FIGHTSTAR rocker CHARLIE SIMPSON caused controversy at the Kerrang! Awards, by cuddling up to his former BUSTED bandmate MATT WILLIS’ girlfriend.
Simpson and MTV UK presenter EMMA GRIFFITHS were photographed looking intimate at the London ceremony on Thursday (24AUG06), despite the singer’s long-term relationship with CAMILLA SMITH.

Rock veteran MICK JAGGER maintains his looks by indulging in $230 (£130) a time beauty treatments.
The 63-year-old prepares for his concerts with the ROLLING STONES by having caviar facials at swanky health spas.
Jagger also has an oxygen mask backstage as well as a cardiac defibrillator in case any of the aged rockers have a hearty attack.
Jagger is a regular at the Health and Fitness Suite in London’s Mayfair - and spent hours there last Sunday (20AUG06) after noticing a spot on his nose.
A source tells British newspaper Daily Mail, "Mick is a real ladies man but surprisingly was very open to the suggestion of facials. After a 15 minute consultation, in which his face was examined under a harsh white light, he was told that he needed a caviar facial.
"His skin texture is fine, if a little saggy, but his main concern is spots.
Last Sunday, he came in with a rather painful-looking spot on the end of his nose and was worried that it would show up when he was on stage and appeared on TV.
"So his face was steamed and then extracted. In other words, specialist tweezers were used to squeeze the offending spots and rid his pores of surplus serum and toxins."

Pop superstar BEYONCE KNOWLES’ father MATHEW has lashed out at the endless speculation surrounding his daughter before her upcoming album launch.
Mathew, who is also Beyonce’s manager, is convinced that there is a deliberate campaign against his daughter in an attempt to ruin her career.
He fumes, "It kills me that there is a plan by some to create chaos around Beyonce’s B’DAY album release on September 5 (06) in the US.
"What will be next? Beyonce’s cut off all her hair? Dyed it green? Maybe she’s singing the songs in reverse with some hidden subliminal message."

The rock veteran clearly developed a taste for rap after his collaboration with late rapper TUPAC and now he wants to explore rap further by uniting with hip-hop heavyweights such as TIMBALAND and KANYE WEST.

The ORDINARY BOYS frontman met Houghton on British reality TV show CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER in January (06) - while he was dating long-term love CAMILLE AZNAR, but ended his relationship so he could start dating Houghton, before proposing just three months later.
Houghton was planted alongside TV and music personalities in the Big Brother house as a ‘fake celebrity’, but won the competition, going in to star in her own TV show called CHANTELLE: LIVING THE DREAM.

Veteran crooner SIR TOM JONES has been forced to cancel two concerts on the French Riviera after suffering from a serious chest infection.
The 66-year-old Welsh star was due to perform two dates in Monte Carlo, Monaco, alongside stars such as STING and PAUL ANKA.
A spokesman says, "Sir Tom is suffering from a serious chest infection and has pulled out of the concerts." Jones was also forced to cancel concert dates in Atlantic City, New Jersey last month (JUL06) after getting an infection of his vocal cords.

Actress ELIZABETH BANKS was the perfect choice to play American footballer’s wife in new movie INVINCIBLE because she’s a sports nut.
The SEABISCUIT star plays legendary Philadelphia Eagles star VINCE PAPALE’s wife JANET in the biopic and insists the producers couldn’t have picked a better person for the role.
She says, "I just knew that world growing up and I knew those types of guys.
We made the film in Philadelphia, where I went to college and we shot the football scenes on the field on which I graduated from college.
"I really grew up on baseball but I love football… I grew up going to games. I’ll still get into a football game.
"Also my husband is a football fanatic and writes for Yahoo! Sports. So, unless I want to be a Sunday widow, I got to participate in football in some way. I get into it." Banks reveals she would have been a professional athlete had it not been for an unfortunate break: "The only reason I became an actor is because I broke my leg sliding into third base in a softball game and I needed something else to do after school."
