Snakes in a Cinema
A US prankster decided to release two rattlesnakes in a cinema showing ‘Snakes on a Plane’.
The man from Houston thought it would be hilarious to see life imitate art and let two live diamondback rattlensnakes loose in a movie theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.
The film tells the story of a crate-load of escaped serpents causing havoc on an airplane.
Melanie Bell, spokeswoman for movie chain AMC Entertainment, said: "One snake was found in the parking lot during the show, and the other in the movie theatre. They were both removed, and no one was harmed." Russ Johnson, president of the Phoenix Herpetological Society, fumed: "The snakes’ bite carries powerful venom that could have seriously injured someone.
"There were kids at the show, it was very reckless." The snakes were captured and released into the desert.
