Dearly departed dance

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:59 pm

Strip shows used to attract crowds to Chinese funerals may soon be banned.
Beijing police arrested five people for organising the raunchy send-offs for their dearly departed, after strippers gave an "obscene performance" at a farmer’s funeral in Donghai County.
A source said: "Striptease used to be a common practice at funerals in Donghai’s rural areas to draw a crowd. Local villagers believe that the more people who attend the funeral, the more the dead person is honoured." Village officials have now been ordered to submit funeral plans 12 hours after a person dies.
Residents can report "funeral misdeeds" by phoning a hotline, according to Xinhua news agency.
