KUTCHER PLOTS WEDDING CRASHERS REALITY TV SERIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

ASHTON KUTCHER is set to recreate hit movie WEDDING CRASHERS as a CANDID CAMERA-type reality TV series, using real-life brides and grooms.
The actor’s Katalyst Films production company has been looking for a way to crash weddings since before the 2005 comedy smash hit cinemas, and now he’s using savvy he showed as the brains behind celebrity practical joke show PUNK’D to invade nuptials.
The idea has been picked up by executives at US TV network NBC and the first six hour-long real-life wedding crashes are expected to air next year (07).
Kutcher and his co-producers will hire a team of actors, who will serve to confuse and amuse wedding guests at a series of selected ceremonies.
VINCE VAUGHN and OWEN WILSON, who starred in the WEDDING CRASHERS film, will not be involved in the TV series.

BLACK DAHLIA LEGEND CONTINUES TO GROW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

The mysterious death of actress ELIZABETH SHORT is to feature in yet another Hollywood movie after New Line studio bosses bought up the rights to former Los Angeles detective STEVE HODEL’s recollection of the case.
Short, dubbed the Black Dahlia because of her stunning dark features, was found brutally murdered and dismembered in 1947, and Hodel led the case to find her killer.
Recalling the case in his book BLACK DAHLIA AVENGER, the retired cop revealed his own father DR GEORGE HODEL was the prime suspect - and remains the man most people believe killed Short.
New Line boss JEFF KATZ, a longtime fan of true crime stories, has picked up the movie rights to Hodel’s book just two weeks before director BRIAN DE PALMA’s much-anticipated film noir THE BLACK DAHLIA hits cinemas.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN star ELIZABETH BANKS thought she was filming a silent movie when she started working with MARK WAHLBERG on the set of INVINCIBLE, because the actor’s mumblings were inaudible.
The actress plays the wife of Wahlberg’s real-life footballer VINCE PAPALE in the new sports film and admits she had issues with her quiet co-star.
She recalls, "The main thing that surprised me about him was how quiet he is.
In my first scene with him I’m shouting out my lines because I talk loud and he’s whispering his.
"I’m like, ‘What?’ I asked the director if he was gonna talk like that through the film. The director (ERICSON CORE) said he’s really quiet but he blows up on screen and he does."

REMINI: ‘LEAVE TOM AND KATIE ALONE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

Actress LEAH REMINI has launched another attack on nosey people desperate to see what her pal TOM CRUISE’s baby daughter looks like.
The US TV star was one of the first people to see the baby and can completely understand why her fellow Scientologist is refusing to release photos of his newborn.
Remini can’t comprehend why there is such a public frenzy to see the photos as gossips insist little SURI CRUISE isn’t normal.
The actress rants, "It’s a normal baby, it’s a beautiful baby… She’s a very well-loved and protected baby. She’s with normal people. That’s why I don’t understand the craziness.
"She c**ps in her diaper, she pees in her diaper, she sleeps, she wakes up every couple of hours - this is what babies do. There’s nothing abnormal about Suri.
"I think it’s really scary. I have acquaintances who’ll say, ‘Why don’t they show the baby?’ Y’know, it’s their baby.
"Unless you’ve been in a situation with these paparazzi… you don’t really understand how protective you are of that baby that you made."

BARDOT FIGHTS NEW SWISS DOG MUZZLING LAW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:14 pm

Retired French actress BRIGITTE BARDOT has added a new campaign to her long list of animal rights conquests after condemning new Swiss laws requiring all owners to muzzle their dogs.
Geneva lawmakers drafted in the new regulations after a toddler was attacked by a pit bull in a public park.
Bardot, a longtime animal rights activist, feels the new ruling is over the top and shouldn’t restrict the freedom of all dogs.
In a letter to today’s Tribune de Geneve newspaper, Bardot writes, "I don’t think a Yorkshire terrier or a lapdog constitute any great danger to the population.
"Unfortunately it’s always the dogs paying the price for their masters’ ignorance, irresponsibility and bad behaviour." The new law came into play on Monday (21AUG06) and calls on owners to make sure Geneva’s estimated 300,000 dogs are muzzled for walks in the park. Owners face fines if they breach the new law.

SEAN PAUL GETS SERIOUS ABOUT JAMAICAN VIOLENCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:14 pm

Reggae star SEAN PAUL is hoping to carry on BOB MARLEY’s peace efforts in his native Jamaica by addressing violence that left a close friend dead on his next album.
The TEMPERATURE hitmaker wants to get serious with his music on his fourth album - as a tribute to both Marley and pal DADDINGTON, who was shot on the streets of Kingston.
Paul’s bid to highlight ongoing troubles in his native Jamaica started when he insisted on shooting his latest video for NEVER GONNA BE THE SAME on the mean streets where he grew up.
He tells MTV News, "It’s a song I wrote about a friend who passed away. I did a video for it already in Jamaica, in the streets and the neighbourhoods that we used to walk together. And so it’s a real special video." In the lyrics, the reggae star also namechecks other friends he has lost to violent attacks. He insists his fourth album, which he hopes to release next year (07) will be full of songs with political and peaceful messages.

CROW REGRETS PLAYING LIVE SO SOON AFTER CANCER BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:14 pm

SHERYL CROW regrets hitting the road so soon after battling cancer earlier this year (06) - because singing her old hits left her with mixed feelings.
The rocker was still emotionally drained when she performed onstage for the first time after her radiation treatment and feels she should have waited because she came close to becoming a mess in front of fans.
But it wasn’t the songs Crow wrote about her romance with ex-fiance LANCE ARMSTRONG on new album WILDFLOWER that left her tearing up - it was classics from years ago.
In her first full TV interview following her cancer scare, Crow told CNN host LARRY KING, "I probably went out a little bit too early in relation to having finished radiation; I was still a little bit fatigued.
"It was some of the older songs that really made me feel melancholy about my life in general - songs like HOME and songs like STRONG ENOUGH TO BE MY MAN.
"Going back out and feeling so different about who I am now and singing those old songs was a little bit bittersweet.
"We did a really small gig in New York for a TV network… We did a nice long soundcheck and I felt great and then when I walked out I felt like I didn’t have any clothes on. It was bizarre. I was completely overwhelmed." But now Crow is thrilled to be playing live again: "Playing, for me now, it feels different; I feel like it’s very celebratory and I’m actually able to sort of embrace and accept the amount of love that’s coming at me."

Pop star JESSE McCARTNEY has resparked rumours JENNIFER LOPEZ is pregnant by blurting out the happy news during a radio interview in Los Angeles.
The teen idol was making an appearance on Georgia’s Star 94 when he left presenters speechless with his insider knowledge about the real reason Lopez quit the DALLAS movie last month (JUL06).
After revealing he’s dating DAVID CASSIDY’s daughter KATIE, who has been cast as LUCY EWING in Dallas, McCartney spilled secrets from the set of the film.
When he was tested with the question, "I bet your girlfriend can give us the scoop on why Jennifer Lopez was fired from the movie?" McCartney blurted out, "She didn’t get fired. She’s pregnant." After an awkward silence host VIKKI LOCKE was urged to change to subject by McCartney’s handlers.
Lopez’s apparent pregnancy has been making headlines for months. Neither she nor husband MARC ANTHONY have confirmed the reports.

Just Get Here If You Can

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:59 pm

A British bridesmaid is refusing to fly to Brisbane for her best friend’s wedding, choosing to travel the distance by train, bus and boat instead.
Barbara Haddrill, a Welsh environmental activist, has decided to undertake the six-week journey because of the harmful greenhouse gases pumped out by airplanes.
She said: "I feel like I have devoted myself to doing what I can to reduce my impact on the environment.
"If I flew to Australia, I would negate everything I have done for the last six years and that would seem sad." The 28-year-old, who lives in a caravan, will travel by bus to Moscow and take the trans-Siberian railway, before heading south to Singapore, where she hopes to board a boat to Australia.

Regional moo

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:59 pm

Cows have regional accents, say British farmers.
Lloyd Green, from south-west England, says he is not the only one to notice that the sound of a cow’s ‘moo’ varies depending on where they live.
He said: "I spend a lot of time with my Friesian cows and they definitely ‘moo’ with a Somerset drawl.
"I’ve spoken to the other farmers in the West Country area and they have noticed a similar development in their own herds.
"I think it works the same as with dogs - the closer a farmer’s bond is with his animals, the easier it is for them to pick up his accent." John Wells, a phonetics professor from London’s University College, said: "You find distinct chirping accents in the same species around the country.
This could also be true of cows."

Snakes in a Cinema

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:59 pm

A US prankster decided to release two rattlesnakes in a cinema showing ‘Snakes on a Plane’.
The man from Houston thought it would be hilarious to see life imitate art and let two live diamondback rattlensnakes loose in a movie theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.
The film tells the story of a crate-load of escaped serpents causing havoc on an airplane.
Melanie Bell, spokeswoman for movie chain AMC Entertainment, said: "One snake was found in the parking lot during the show, and the other in the movie theatre. They were both removed, and no one was harmed." Russ Johnson, president of the Phoenix Herpetological Society, fumed: "The snakes’ bite carries powerful venom that could have seriously injured someone.
"There were kids at the show, it was very reckless." The snakes were captured and released into the desert.

It was only when an employee pointed out that he was in a town hall, that he realised his mistake.
The man, who fled to a nearby wood, was arrested later that day when he returned to collect his motorbike - which he had parked outside the town hall.

Dearly departed dance

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:59 pm

Strip shows used to attract crowds to Chinese funerals may soon be banned.
Beijing police arrested five people for organising the raunchy send-offs for their dearly departed, after strippers gave an "obscene performance" at a farmer’s funeral in Donghai County.
A source said: "Striptease used to be a common practice at funerals in Donghai’s rural areas to draw a crowd. Local villagers believe that the more people who attend the funeral, the more the dead person is honoured." Village officials have now been ordered to submit funeral plans 12 hours after a person dies.
Residents can report "funeral misdeeds" by phoning a hotline, according to Xinhua news agency.
