FOXY BROWN SKIPS COURT SESSION
LATEST: Rapper FOXY BROWN has been ordered by the judge to attend court, after skipping at hearing on charges filed by a former colleague today (23AUG06).
Judge CYNTHIA D JACKSON told Brown’s attorney that his client would be expected to attend the next court hearing.
Brown’s lawyer, BRIAN J NEARY, assured the judge his client would be present to contest the two complaints filed by RASHEEDA ELLIS.
During the three-minute session, the judge granted Neary’s request for a probable cause hearing, which was set for 26 September (06). Outside court, Neary said he would ask for the charges to be dismissed at that time.
Ellis told the judge she does not plan to have a lawyer represent her.
Neary says, “Foxy says she’s never had a problem with this woman.” He described Ellis as a former consultant to Brown’s management company.
Brown - real name INGA MARCHAND - faces a trial in New York, where she was charged with assaulting two nail salon workers in a fracas over the cost of a manicure in 2004.
