Oklahoma natives VINCE GILL and JIMMY WEBB have teamed up to pay a musical tribute to their home state.
The country stars have recorded OKLAHOMA RISING and will debut it at the start of the state’s centennial celebrations next month (SEP06).
The tune, which features music by Gill and lyrics by Webb, is a “concise overview of the state’s history”, including the Dust Bowl era of the 1930s and the 1995 bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City.
The 100th anniversary of Oklahoma’s statehood takes place in November (06).
