RAMIREZ’S RELATIVES RESPOND TO ARREST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:11 am

LATEST: The relatives of slain bodyguard ISRAEL RAMIREZ have welcomed the news the victim’s former employer BUSTA RHYMES has been charged by police.
Although the hip-hop star was detained on an unrelated charge of assaulting a fan and illegal possession of a weapon on Sunday (20AUG06), STEPHANIE HIRES, mother of Ramirez’s six-year-old son STILES is glad Rhymes is under police scrutiny.
She says, “Maybe something will be done this time.” Ramirez, 29, was gunned down on duty at a Brooklyn recording studio while the rapper - real name TREVOR SMITH - was shooting the video for his song TOUCH IT (REMIX). The murderer remains at large and Rhymes has so far failed to participate in the police investigation.
AMELIN FERNANDEZ, who receives financial support from Rhymes for the three kids she had with Ramirez, had a different response to his arrest and silence so far.
She tells the New York Daily News, “There’s half of me that wants him to speak, and half of me that understands. He takes care of me.” Rhymes, 34, stands accused of kicking ROBERTO LEBRON repeatedly in the head and body on a Manhattan street on 12 August (06), leaving the fan to seek hospital treatment for concussion, a split lip and an injured wrist. Cops also allegedly found a 10-inch (25.4 centimetre) knife in his sports utility vehicle (SUV).
The rapper denies the charges against him. He’s due to appear in Manhattan Criminal Court on 24 October (06).
