Ugly sheep hunt
Australian scientists have asked farmers to report ugly sheep.
The ‘Xtreme sheep’ campaign will examine sheep with unattractive wool features and try to crack the secret to the perfect fleece.
The South Australian Research and Development Institute said searching for Australia’s ugliest merino lambs could help the country to boost its wool industry.
It is hoped the study will make the wool stretchier, less scratchy, shinier and easier to spin.
So far only ten ugly sheep have been found.
