Getaway breakdown
A man who robbed a corner shop was caught by police after his getaway truck ran out of petrol.
David Booth entered the store threatening to use a weapon if the owners didn’t give him the contents of the cash register.
The clerk gave him the money but called the police as soon as Booth drove away.
The robber was picked up just a mile down the road where he had broken down after running out of gas.
The police chief said: “We recovered everything.” Booth pleaded not guilty and the judge set his bail at $50,000.
