Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors, has added a new report which finds that growth for the cellular industry will come from the emerging markets of the world as developed markets are saturated.
‘Wireless & Mobile Trends, Challenges & Outlook: Synopsis for 2007 - 2009', which is available at www.reportbuyer.com/go/KAZ00011 finds that emerging markets including Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC), Middle East and African (MEA), Asia, and Latin America will represent 80% of worldwide subscriber growth for the cellular industry.
In fact, the report finds that just the BRIC
countries will represent over 50 percent of the world's subscriber growth in the period between 2006 and 2009. The study says that developed markets are already saturated in Europe and parts of Asia-Pacific.
Analysts find that several factors will drive the need for wireless and mobile connectivity in the emerging markets. These include an improving economic environment, the need for connectedness, poor wireline infrastructure, affordability of cellular services, and the availability of low cost handsets.
Authors of the report say that the cellular industry surpassed the 2 billion global subscriber mark a couple of years ago, and is now rapidly moving on to acquiring three billion subscribers.
