Ellucian® Boosts Groundbreaking Mobile Solution with High-Demand Features and More Seamless User Experience

FAIRFAX, Va. – August 9, 2013 – Ellucian® is advancing digital campus power with the new 2.5 release of Ellucian Mobile. New features, including multimedia messaging, Google Analytics, and single sign-on access to external mobile web applications and Ellucian web products, help institutions of higher education provide more and better role-based content, and gain insights to improve their mobile campus experience.

Unlike outmoded offerings that bundle disconnected apps through mobile middleware, Ellucian Mobile is a single app that delivers volumes of varied content through a highly customizable framework. It is a fast, affordable, and scalable approach to institutions wanting to deliver the best mobile experience. More than 600 institutions located throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, Central America, the

Caribbean, South America, and Australia have licensed Ellucian Mobile since it was launched in April.

Ellucian Mobile now provides the ability for institutions to deliver video and audio files, like a presidential welcome video or the school fight song, to all users; rich features that are in high demand by mobile users. The new version also delivers more capabilities made possible by leveraging the solution’s out-of-the-box integration to Ellucian’s three administrative systems: Colleague® by Ellucian, Banner® by Ellucian, and PowerCampus™ by Ellucian. The integration also makes it possible for users to access single sign-on web applications that use Central Authentication Service (CAS), creating a consistent mobile user experience. These applications include those that reside on an institution’s Ellucian portal solution as well as external mobile web applications.

In addition, Ellucian customers that use the Colleague Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) can give students and faculty access to learning management system data directly on mobile devices. For example, students and faculty can easily view class assignments, calendars, and other course-related information from their Blackboard Learn™ and Moodle Learning Management Systems.

The new version of Ellucian Mobile also includes Google Analytics so institutions can view detailed, aggregated statistics on overall and specific feature usage. This intelligence can help determine how the mobile app is used and how to improve it for the community.

Ellucian Mobile supports the iOS, Android and Kindle Fire platforms. Institutions can choose to implement an easily configurable turnkey application that can be fully launched in hours or opt to build, customize, and manage their own mobile environment. Ellucian Mobile also includes the following key features:
• Multiple-entity support that enables institutions or consortiums to customize a single application for each campus or institution
• Full customization and branding control so institutions can brand and prioritize their mobile experience
• Real-time extensibility that enables institutions to include non-Ellucian services and mobile web apps
• Cloud configuration system designed to help institutions launch a customized and branded solution in hours, without deep technical experience
• Available in five languages, including US English, UK English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese
