ELGA Process Water helps Fisherman’s Friend increase production
ELGA Process Water, a Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies company, has supplied a fourth high purity water system to Lofthouse of Fleetwood to meet increasing worldwide demand for their famous Fisherman’s Friend lozenges.
To meet the demands of the new production facility, 1000 litres per hour of purified water was required to meet FDA and MHRA pharmaceutical standards. ELGA Process Water supplied an IonPRO LX treatment system incorporating reverse osmosis and continuous electro-deionisation (CEDI), with a fully automatic sanitisation sequence to ensure microbiological compliance. The IonPRO LX was factory tested and provided with a full validation pack to minimise site installation time.
As Lofthouse of Fleetwood knows from experience, the IonPRO LX is a very reliable plant, but Engineering Section Leader Paul
Grassie wanted to ensure that it continues to operate at peak performance, so he took out a service contract. The five-year AQUAservice Diamond - 24 hour response service contract covers all four of the ELGA Process Water treatment plants on the site. In addition to normal servicing and planned maintenance, the contract includes emergency breakdown cover, parts and consumables, media/membrane replacements, regular calibration and an in-depth annual report for regulatory compliance. By taking up a multi-year agreement, Lofthouse of Fleetwood benefit from a fixed price for the duration of the contract, providing cost savings as well as peace of mind.
