- DriveCam Inc., a global Driver Risk Management company, announced that after four years in the role, Bruce Moeller will be stepping down as CEO effective June 30, 2008.
Over the past four years, Bruce led the company through a period of significant change and growth. He played an instrumental role in defining DriveCam's current product and service offerings and transitioned the company from a one time product sales orientation to a recurring revenue, subscriber based, managed services business, which was instrumental in defining Driver Risk Management as an industry. Bruce guided the company's rapid growth to nearly 100,000 units in service and helped the company build a strong brand name and gain global recognition for its effectiveness in
reducing driving risk, most recently through his well-received book, Driving Me Crazy.
Justin Jaschke, DriveCam's Executive Chairman, commented, "Bruce provided the guiding vision that drove DriveCam to become the best in the world at reducing risky driving behavior, which resulted in saving lives and property for our customers. He led the company with distinction, navigating DriveCam through a period of rapid change and growth. The Board has a great deal to thank him for and I would like personally to express thanks for all he has done for the business and wish him and his family all the best for the future."
Bruce Moeller said, "It has been a privilege to lead DriveCam for the last four years. I feel that I accomplished what I set out to achieve, particularly in developing and implementing DriveCam's new business model and strategy. I am proud of what DriveCam and its people have accomplished - our rapid growth and our distinctive approach to saving lives by predicting and preventing driving tragedies."
The Board has appointed Ron Scioscia, Chief Financial Officer, as Acting President, while initiating a search for a CEO with the experience, skills and background to lead the company through its next stage of development. DriveCam continues to strengthen its market leadership position by prioritizing operational excellence in delivering its "software-as-a-service" value proposition to its customers. This focus will allow the company to accelerate its growth and expand into new markets, new geographies and new services.
Justin Jaschke was recently named chairman of the company's board of directors. Jaschke, an entrepreneur and visionary with a track record of leading successful, high-growth businesses, has been a member of DriveCam's board of directors since 2006. Jaschke founded Verio, a multi-billion dollar global Internet services and Web hosting provider, in 1996, and subsequently served as the company's CEO until 2004. Previously, he held executive leadership positions at Nextel Communications Inc. and OneComm Corporation.
