2013-03-13 17:21:10 - Holistic Health & Wellness Doctor Provides Tips for Teens and Young Adults for Upcoming Spring Break

New York, NY (March 13, 2013) - Holistic physician, Health & wellness specialist and author of the upcoming book, The Wellness Blueprint, Dr. Maiysha Clairborne ( www.mbswellness.org/), announced today five ways by which youths can stay safe and healthy while on their spring break. These rules for spring break mostly apply to middle school, high school, and college students, but can also be affective to parents who may be vacationing with their children. Dr. Clairborne feels that although this break is traditionally a time for students to unwind after a busy beginning of the semester, they still need to be conscious of the fact that they have to follow a healthy diet and lifestyle to keep themselves away from diseases

and other health issues. Spring break can be a great time to make memories and enjoy some rest and relaxation, but it is also important to maintain healthy habits and behaviors.

Some of Dr. Claiborne’s tips include:
• Chill out with Smoothies instead of burger or fries
• Get out and be active, and remember to wear sunscreen
• Travel Smart and party safely
• Stay safe behind the wheels

“The holidays are the most stressful time of the year for lot of people,” begins health & wellness expert and holistic doctor, Dr. Maiysha Clairborne. “So during spring one needs to remain active, get proper rest, and not get caught up eating an unhealthy diet which can severely affect the immune system. One of the most important things to do this spring is to rehydrate yourself with water and juices, which is the key to remaining healthy and happy this spring.”

Dr. Clairborne is a well-known expert on tackling stress, and methods on how to maintain calm in the midst of chaos through medications and healthy lifestyle choices to encourage balance. She is the author of “Eat Your Disease Away”, which focuses on healing and maintaining the health in the body through the consumption of disease fighting foods. She has been featured as a wellness expert on several radio programs throughout the country as well as television features like NBC 40 Health Update, CW’s Focus Atlanta, Rx for Life, Fox 45 Baltimore’s Health Segment, and more.
