WINDSOR, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/15/12 -- After hearing recent comments broadcast on 'The Colbert Report' regarding the City of Windsor, the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) has graciously extended an invitation to American comedian Stephen Colbert to be the Grand Marshal of their Winter Fest Holiday Parade to be held in downtown Windsor on December 15.

The DWBIA feels that this would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase our City and its tremendous assets, and is certain that many would come to the Parade for the opportunity to demonstrate good old fashioned Canadian hospitality to Mr. Colbert.

"We warmly welcome Mr. Colbert to lead the Parade and go where no man has gone before," Larry Horwitz, Board Chair for the DWBIA, said in the news release.

The DWBIA's Winter Fest Holiday Parade is comprised of marching and steel bands, professional entertainers, equestrian units, balloons, dancers, super heroes and more. Commencing at 3:00pm on Saturday December 15, the Parade will proceed north on Ouellette Avenue from Giles to Riverside Drive.

The DWBIA works to ensure that downtown Windsor is the preferred place to work, live, visit, shop and play. With over 615 members, it represents the interest of all its members and actively seeks to build a vibrant and thriving downtown.
