The Coding Game is the product of the healthcare researchers and software developers at Artificial Medical Intelligence, Inc. and provides an Internet game experience for medical coders to collaborate in determining medical coding best practices.

At Dolbey booth #413, a smaller version of The Coding Game will be available for medical coding professionals to participate in this powerful, healthcare professional experiment. Visitors will select the ICD and CPT codes they deem appropriate for sample medical charts presented by the Game while instantly matching their skills against the Game's

database. Correct answers are determined by the consensus of prior Game participants.

Medical coding is the process of extracting billing codes from a patient chart. Skilled professionals known as Coders, review documentation and make determinations about which billing codes are appropriate for the available supporting facts. Coding variability is common and demonstrated by the fact that two different coders may arrive at similar but different billing results. This variability is due to certain ambiguities inherent in coding documentation, guidelines and training.

The AHIMA Convention and Exhibit will be held at the Washington State Trade and Convention Center from October 13th to the 15th.
